I was going to get the green one but was limiting myself so I chose heavier fabrics which I could use for bags and cushions :)

I got a really nice grey one with flowers they had it in white too I wish I got more and I got a lovely pale blue with pink spots. There are pictures of the fabric I got here: http://misspixiecrafts.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-will-start-with-warning-this-is-going.html

I have an expedit unit and been wanting to do this http://www.ikeahackers.net/2011/06/expedit-island.html with wheels it would make a perfect cutting table as I cant seem to cut sitting down

I just need to buy the worktop http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60086500

2 of these expedit castors http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60169977

1 of these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20054563 to put on the expedit then the work top on it to raise it to standing height
it comes to 40 something quid ...maybe next month :-)

I think i need an industrial sewing machine:rotfl:

the problem is i just keep on breaking my sewing needles:o when i am doing my handbags..

I am using old canvas belts for the straps, and its just too thick, andi dont think my machine is powerfull enough to sew them...

the thing is the bags i have managed to make, are selling well, so i have been having a look for an industrial sewing machine:eek: didnt realise they were so expensive on ebay...

Most of htem are around the £500 mark....

but i have seen these ones

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290582682645&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

do you think this type of one would do the job? and could i use this one as my 'everyday' type of machine?

this is the type of thing i will be using the machine for

Could you maybe try a different method of attaching the canvas straps? When I was young we had a leather shop in town and I used to buy all sorts of offcuts (mainly suede) to make belts and bags.
My mum bought me a gadget which made the holes as in your picture, the belt holes with metal around them (sorry I can't remember what they're called! - just studs?) and put the stud things in, but it could also put in plain studs as well, without holes, which you could join pieces with.

ikea is great for things like this and good prices too.

i have a 4x4 expedit and a 2x2 expedite in my craft / sewing room

i have my serger on top of the 2x2 i dont have the casters though

i also have a pice of oak worktop which i used to make my sewing desk bigger

the 2x2 with my serger now stands to the right of the long window you can see in this photo.

and i have some of these in both pink and black that fit inside with fabric in

Can you use a rivet instead of sewing? Or fabric Glue even, As it seems extreme to buy an industrial machine just for that part of your sewing? Or you need to sell an awful lot of bags to recoupe the cost of a machine.
There were a few things I was going to quote on and I cannot fathom the multi quote thingy. Oh well.
I have updated my blog as I have been tweeking some of my makes from last years craft stall, ready for the shops this week.

You need to press the coloured speech bubbles for each one you want to quote, apart from the last one - for that one, you press the quote button, then it will bring you to the quote box and you just type in between the /QUOTE and QUOTE for each one.

I think you can only quote three people at a time though.
