    Hi everyone,

I really wanted to buy a sewing machine but DH thinks it will be a hobby that i will get bored of and didn't want to waste money so we comprimised and i bought my friends Proletrix 8 Stitch Sewing Machine from her.

The needle i had for it is now bent and im unsure of what ones to buy to replace it, i emailed the company and they said that the product is discontinued. Not really much of a help.

Can anyone help with what needles i can use? I've seen some universal ones but im not sure if they will fit in mine..

    :)

Take the needle that you have with you and compare it against the ones that you see in your local shops. However for the last 30 years I have been sewing and I have managed to use the universal ones for them all, except on my Janome combi, and that was it. I have been using many makes over the years and have 5 sewing machines now. all accept the universal ones.
P>S. Thanks for the vote of confidence with the bag.

can't post links so please add the www.

Can these use eyelets from other companies? Or do you always have to buy the Crop o Dile ones?

Mooloo, that bag's fab! I especcially love the thing for hanging keys on. I tried to put one in a bag I made, but I did it wrong and, whilst it's in the bag, it's inside the lining :rotfl:Where did you get those clip things and is that ordinary ribbon?

I bought the clips a few months ago. Via Ebay knowing me. They came in packs of 5. Swivel Trigger Clip Key Rings. I think the company has a web site. BFnT.co.uk but havent reordered yet. Infact I must.
The ribbon was just a remenant of ribbon lurking. Could have come from anywhere knowing me.
I tend to just grab bits and pieces and people do donate in my direction when they think I can recycle something that they have.
I used shower curtain for one of the inside pockets of the bag, and curtain lining for the other one. never sewn a bag with two pockets like that before. But pretty pleased with the results.
I am liking my little Cow Buttons that have arrived, and have sewn them onto a few other bits and pieces this afternoon. I just hope that other people like them as well!
I do have some little Scotty Dogs as well, but wanted to start to keep the cow as my Mooloo symbol for obvious reasons.!:D

Moo as in the sound a cow makes. My nick name has always been Mooloo, or Moo to those close to me. So I bought labels with small comical cows on, and then I found these cute buttons that are wooden cows so i thought I had to have them. Bit like Radley have thier dog.

Those swivel things are £1.45 for 5, or they get cheaper if you buy more. Postage starts at £1.10 not sure what they would be on ebay, havent been to take a look lately. I tend to go and search for more fabric remenants and I really just do not need them at all!!!

I guessed - I was joking, sorry (odd sense of humour sometimes) :o

Decided to print off some of the pdf files that i bought ages ago. Was just getting going and the printer has decided to conk out. Diagnosis is Pen Failure! Just my luck.
I will have to dig around my books and see what I fancy making from them instead.
Wanted to do a few odd bits that were different from the bits I have been doing of late. Oh well. S0ds law. I am consoling myself with some chocolate I had lurking in the kitchen cupboard.

Mooloo - love your bag and the button sounds great. I can emphasize (spl?) with the chocolate fix. I had a grotty day at work and managed to eat nearly a whole 200g block of dark chocolate with hazelnuts this afternoon.

No stitching done for a few days although I've cut out 3 blocks ready for sewing up for my quilt.
