    Hello :)
I'm looking around for my first sewing machine (complete novice, never used one before). I've come across this website. Have any of you used it before? They have an Elna Sew Fun ex-display for £89 which I think is reasonable? I don't want to spend too much in case I don't get on with it, but I don't want a rubbish mini machine which will hardly do anything!

I'm starting off by hand and going to get some bits to make a sock monkey today - I have no resources/accessories/eqiupment at all! Well, except a pack of needles and some white cotton!

    Thanks for any help :)

I do have some little Scotty Dogs as well, but wanted to start to keep the cow as my Mooloo symbol for obvious reasons.!:D

When I was about 8 or 9, my mum made me a skirt and top from red material with little white Scotty dogs all over, and finished the top with Scotty dog buttons:) I absolutely loved it, I do wish either of us had thought to keep some of the things she used to make for me.

I'm mainly a lurker on this board but wanted to say thank you to all of you, you've all helped me no end, mainly just the confidence to think I can sew:T

That site has very mixed reviews.
I was going to buy from them and had a bad experience, but others have had no problems at all.

I have nothing but praise for them. They were helpful and knowledgeable and gave next day delivery along with lots of extras with my Brother machine.

Hya pinkpig, a few folk have got their machines from here...good delivery, and extra freebies too, as well as good prices. I have been drooling over some of the more expensive ones...one day...if I win the Lottery!!! :rotfl:

In the mean time I will plod along with my Lewenstein (bought in Holland in 1986)...it's fine most of the time, just sometimes it plays up...like recently. So need to give it a good clean, change the needle and play with the tension...that should do it! :D

Good luck with your machine hunt...how exciting!

Just wondered if you'd had a go yet.
