I have a couple of links to possible layouts for my quilt. I need to know the exact layout before I cut sashing blocks as not all of the squares made it to the correct size. Unless I sew another strip to them so that I can make the sashing the right size?
I would like opinions if you wouldn't mind, I have to do a 2" square in between each sashing strip which will frame each block (IYSWIM?). There is not enough pink fabric to do it so if you see one in any of the squares which you think would look good, please shout out :). I'm not keen on using the yellow, it may be too insipid I think. Anyway, here they are....

You may notice on this one that I have got the same yellow on top middle and bottom middle which is woopsie that I couldn't correct. It's meant to be the other yellow and dark star :o
    Night all :)

I like the top layout. Have you got enough of either the blue or green fabric that you could use? It really depends if you want colour to be predominent. If not what about the browny colour thats in the middle of the middle left block on the lower option (sorry if this is the pink you are talking about).

By the way the blocks look great. I still only have 4 made and no setting squares. Will reallly need to get cracking.

Kaz, looks lovely the way you have them set out in both layouts. What colour are the sashing strips again? May be you can print it out a few times and colour the strips and blocks in with coloured pencils to see what effect it gives you?

I got some more hand quilting done last night, over half way on my latest quilt so will try to get that finished off this week for the shop. Have another waiting to be cut out, not sure what to do with it, whether to do squares again or triangles. Might need to buy some contrasting fabric if I do triangles.

Thanks Ailsb. I like the top layout too. I'm still not keen on the yellow square which is the far left middle one. I don't feel you can see the star, that's why it's tucked down there as it's away from the door :o. The browny colour is what I will be using for the sashing strips. It's a light browny beige with white clouding on it and a small print with white flowers. I really like this fabric and may well use it as backing fabric too. I do have enough of both the green and the blue but would be more inclined to use the blue as I'm not *that* keen on the green.I shall have a fiddle and see what I can come up with.

Unfortunately I don't have a printer :( I may have to try and lay it out with the blocks on top of the one I'm thinking of for the corners.
Good luck with your quilts. Triangles are nice but can be a pain to keep cutting out. I suppose it depends if you want to clear some of your stash rather than adding to it.

    Thank you :).
I think £6 for the make-up bags is a fair price but will you earn enough from your time? Unless you are just trying to cover your fabric costs with a bit of extra money for more fabric. The trouble is, it's getting people to part with a fair cost for items that you've made.

I tried to quote georgiabay too but obviously can't quote more than 3 messages. I like your camera case. It's very stylish. I like the button on the front :).

Right, I'm off with my squares up to my bed to play around with them and see how big it will end up. I may need to make a larger border still.

    Hi,

Not been in here for ages as I've been knitting rather than sewing.

Can someone remind me of the name of the cheap online site for fabrics please - the one with the dreadful gaudy website? I was sure I had it saved, but can't find it.
I'm looking for cheap christmas fabric in small quantities in reds golds and greens. Need lots of designs in small quantities, so remnants really?

    Thanks in advance.
