Kandipandi - my big sis made me a t-shirt peg bag when I moved into my flat and she just used a normal sized hanger. It still works ok.

Hi, Just reading your thread - I have a shop on Folksy too, but find that I get more sales through Misi.co.uk - that one is worth checking out too. There are helpful forums on there and the fees are about the same0

Hi, I would really love to join in with you. I was looking through the Next Directory the other day and there were loads of things I would love to have, and then I wondered if I could make similar bedding and soft furnishings myself, so that is now my plan!
The only problem is that I don't have a sewing machine, but I do like hand sewing, so I hope that will be ok."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hi rosepink, welcome
Hand sewing is not a prob, a lot on this tread only hand sew and have produced some great things
I am fairly new to sewing and persuaded my OH to buy me a basic sewing machine for my birthday (got it a bit early as its not till next week lol).
Here every one is friendly and give great advice if you are stuck on something.

tbh it would depend on whether you are looking to make some money for your time, or whether you are just helping a friend out. on what you should charge
if helping a friend out, i would prob just charge a flat rate of £10/pr depending on size
but if doing it for money, you should really be charging at least min wage, per hour you spend making them - however most professional curtain makers would charge at least £10/hr - i know of very few curtain makers who make curtains for less than £100/pr, but that does usually include fabric (where they make their money)

Good to see all your blogs and shops - not sure how much more room I have for my favourites folder....
Can I pick your sewing brains? Anyone suggest a good sewing book to get? It's my birthday soon and my friend wants to get me a sewing book so has asked me which one I'd like - I'm no expert but have made a few sock monkeys, cushion covers, bags and other simple projects so nothign too complication.... any ideas? Thanks, Lucy x0
