Still not finished reading the Mollie Makes magazine, but loving every article I've read so far! I have got it on the 3 for £5 deal, but can see me taking out an annual subscription if the next mags are as good as this one!!
There is a Mollie Makes website here...still not investigated it very much, been pretty busy lately...typical!
I spent 4 hours yesterday at a local quilt exhibition....it was amazing!! I spent everything in my purse, but it could have been soooo much worse, as no-one took plastic! :rotfl:
I did get a rather classy hand-dyed silk scarf for my SIL, who is 60 in July. I also got a small patchwork bowl for us to put our keys into...lovely colours that matched our sitting room perfectly! Also, now I have one I can work out how to make it and will make more to give as presents to folk!! Here's a couple of piccies:
I was very good....I didn't buy any material, but the supplier there only lives a few miles from me and I can go and see her at any time...very dangerous!!
I also got accosted by some quilters and I am going to my first ever quilting group this Wedensday evening. I plan on getting my pot-holder finished before I go, so they can tell me what I have done wrong (and right, hopefully!). I got quite a bit of advice yesterday, which has given me the courage to finish this pot-holder, my first bit of quilting.
First though I have to finish the curtain/hanging I am making DS2 to cover some internal windows which still let in light, despite being painted over. I have pieced together various bits of blackout lining (got on Freegle), and have used it to back a piece of camouflage-patterned material that he chose from my stash. I am pinning up the hem atm, so will sew that in place and add some velcro to stick it to the window frame...then it's quilting here I come!!! :j
Sorry for the ramble, I am just so excited about all this...though I should really be thinking knitting as I need to plan some lessons I may be teaching come September...oh the agony of choice!!! Shame I am working every day this week...though Friday I am at the Malvern Spring Show, helping out at a stand...so all things horticultural on Friday the 13th

I forgot to confess earlier too.......
After I had been into town and bought more shirring elastic to replace the utterly useless one I received from ebay, I came home and finished off DD's skirt (Yay!). Then I put away the machine and all the associated gubbins and found another roll of shirring elastic. I could have carried on and finished her skirt yesterday afternoon after all that hassle!
The shirring I got today didn't seem as elasticated as the one I had been using but was a very similar thickness. I have now put DD's skirt in the wash as she got it mucky the other day but I have put it in inside a pillow case. Really hope it survives the process!
Need to get on with the rest of the housework tomorrow so that I can hopefully make her top/skirt whatever she wants. I should be able to knock it up tomorrow evening and Wednesday morning hopefully. Hmo thanks for sharing the sachets maybe i can rescue the 5 small ones i had made and turn them into scented sachetsI am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:

Hello
I am a relatively novice sewer and would like to try to make some simple alterations to some A-line skirts that are too big for me.
Can anyone please recommend any books or online tutorials where I can get a good how-to guide with diagrams etc?
Many thanks0
