no i will have to google to see what that is0 -
If you don't mind having a line of stitching on either side of the outside of the strap, you could make no-turn straps. I use these for bags http://www.warehousefabricsinc.com/blog/how-to-make-a-non-turn-strap/
hi yes thats how i do my bag handles but as it was my first dress i was trying to follow the pattern to the letter!0 -

Each year I spend a small fortune on them (even on ebay they're not cheap as chips when you factor in postage) so pretty sure we (me and my mum) could do it cheaper.
TIA
I posted a free one a couple of days ago from the Oliver & S blog0 -
ok i am off out but here is a quick photo of the dress
i think i like it, but not bad for a first go, she insisted on wearing it over cropped leggings!0 -
I like that dress
. Yes they do all insist on wearing some strange things under dresses don't they! My DD keeps trying to go out in leggings under shorts and footless tights under shorts. She won't learn, every single time we see her, "You can go and take that off, you look ridiculous" or "You're not going out in public looking like that!". The trouble is, she's a big girl for her age and the clothing which is sold nowadays is IMHO not at all apropriate for little girls. She looks like she's going out on the game half the time. Unfortunately she mixes her clothes together to make the outfits she wishes we would buy her but we still don't let her leave the house in them

My daughter has just sent me a photo of her 8 year old, asking how I like the retro 80's hooker look! Like Kaz, she checks how she's dressed before leaving the house.0

I think that there was a programme on the Tv a little while ago, about "stop pimping our Kids" which is the same sort of thing. Manufacturers making clothes that are not suitable really. But we as parents/grandparents have limited options but to buy some of the stuff. (Well I steer clear as much as possible.) DGD is going on about gettting some Lelli? Kelly shoes that advertise on Tinypops. They are £42.50 and come with a makeup mobile phone! So its the phone of makeup thats pulling in the interest with the kids.
I still think that all kids TV should be free of adverts but then thats only my opinion.
The little dress is cute. Well done! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
hmo I love the dress
well done, it looks great
I might have a go myself :rotfl:
My DD is comming up to 17 and will not show her legs, she is going to buy some tights to wear with her prom dressbut then again Im pleased she is like that
I always dressed her in little pinafore dresses when she was small and they looked better than dressing her like a tart.
My DGD's mum thinks she is 6 going on 16 and my son changes her clothes when he has her for the weekends into clothes fit for her age, it drives him nuts
Pootlemy package arrived today

its terrible in the shops the clothes for girls seem to be great up to about 7 and after that as has been said they look like little dreadfull.
i let her keep the leggings as they were cropped and it did look ok, in truth i think the dress is a bit big all the measurements on the pattern were the same as my dd apart from the chest it said 27 and she is 25.
i am thinking of making it again as we saw some bright fabric yesterday when she chose the white, so i make make the size smaller and i am also thinking about using a good strong wide ribbon for the strap, but she likes it and wants to wear it again so i suppose thats a start:)0
