Your cushions are so lovely irishgirl :) I hope to be able to sew as well as you do one day :).
I have finally been able to upload the blasted photos onto photobucket. It still took ages this morning for some reason. I had time yesterday for a quick google and think that I have worked out what was wrong. When I pressed the seams, I just put it wrong side up and pressed it. It seems that I was supposed to do it differently and sort of squish out all of the spare fabric (IYKWIM?). I didn't do this and I can see a little bit of overlap from some of the seams so I think that's where I've gone wrong. I haven't measured the seams yet as not had time but I will have a fiddle and see what I think.
    So, here are the pictures...

Not the neatest, but it's the first attempt so I will hopefully improve! Does anyone else find it hard to sew with fabric which flaps around all the time? I might have to invest in a decent spray and make up some starch stuff.

How big are you going to go with your project? I know what you mean about flappy bits :rotfl: but you do get used to it.

Here is a make that has just been finished. Never again he was so awkward to do (or that might have just been me....although dd had a go with him as well) so he's an only child!

Thanks Mooloo, Jerez and anyone else who replied about my curtains query. I really like the friendliness of this thread.

Realised I'd better start on something small before I try and make curtains. Off to a craft fair tomorrow so hopefully someone there can help me choose a cheap machine.
