So am I the only one up?I cant sleep...I have my head phones on listening to music and I cant still hear all the boys (DH+2xDS) snoring upstairs through the baby monitor. So I thought I'd think about the duvet cover I want to make for DH and my bed.

We have a king and so I bought two double sheets from Asda for £9 and 1 king sheet for £4,I want to make them into a duvet cover to go with my runner (some of you might remember me mentioning it the last time I delurked.

But now I cant decide if I want to do it stripes or squares-whats going to be the prettiest (and then easiest)?Off to google some more then.

ETA: Im going to bed but I've decided on horizontal stripes-I think they'll look the best with the runner, worked ot the measurements and how/where to cut them, and then cut a crayon roll from a fat quarter to make sure I can still cut straight...going to use the roll to store my cake decorating tools in:)

Your cushions are so lovely irishgirl :) I hope to be able to sew as well as you do one day :).
I have finally been able to upload the blasted photos onto photobucket. It still took ages this morning for some reason. I had time yesterday for a quick google and think that I have worked out what was wrong. When I pressed the seams, I just put it wrong side up and pressed it. It seems that I was supposed to do it differently and sort of squish out all of the spare fabric (IYKWIM?). I didn't do this and I can see a little bit of overlap from some of the seams so I think that's where I've gone wrong. I haven't measured the seams yet as not had time but I will have a fiddle and see what I think.
    So, here are the pictures...

Not the neatest, but it's the first attempt so I will hopefully improve! Does anyone else find it hard to sew with fabric which flaps around all the time? I might have to invest in a decent spray and make up some starch stuff.
