Hi ladies, sorry not posted for a while but I have been reading - I've not made anything yet but finally had chance to get some free swatches from Cath Kidston so wanting to have a go at making a case for my mobile - wondering if anyone knows where I could get a template - tried googling it but nothing came up?? I know one of the girls made one a few pages back - without a template - but as it is the first time of trying to make anything I thought I could really do with proper instructions (bit thick like that!!). Thanks in advance x0

Here is one for an ipod cover which you could just adapt to the size you need. If you google mobile phone case sewing tutorial you should get quite a few coming up. Here is another one. x0 -

Hi, just before Xmas I was in a lovely gift shop near Southport. They had some lovely Xmas crafts in.
The ones that caught my eye most were some angels/gnome type characters and a stitched advent calendar.
The faces on the Xmas characters were similar to the Tilda book characters but were more gnome like.
I'm sure the shop owner said they were made in Finland, they were fabulous but at £67 for the calendar, not that fabulous:eek:
Anyone any ideas?0 -
Mely & Pootleflump - thank you for the links. One mentions French Seams - OMG - I think I remember the name from school???? I am going to pop to youtube see if I can get some on line lessons - lol. Thanks again ladies :-)0

French seam
Place the fabric wrong sides together and stitch your seam - trim the seam width down to about 1/8th inch from the stitches. Turn the item inside out (or actually right side in) and seam again.
Your seams will now be nice and neat with no raw edges showing.
French seams are easier to do on straight seams rather than curved ones.
Because they are seamed and then turned and seamed again, you might want to make your seam allowances slightly wider than normal to allow for the trimming.0 -

Hope you understand my directions, it is easier to show than to write about.0
