Hi everybody, I am back too after a longish absence since Christmas. I have just been catching up with the thread and have just read about five pages:D

It was funny that Kindle covers came up a few pages back. I also got one for Christmas and didn't have a case for it, so made one:j I like it so much I have made four more:D

As they are not the standard type of pattern, but PES files for an embroidery machine the standard of the sewing is fantastic. I can't believe how good they came out, I was so pleased once I sussed out how to understand the pattern! Even my 9 year old daughter said to me 'they look like they came from a shop!!' praise indeed lol. I can't post the pics of them here because I'm on a different laptop and need to get my details for flickr up to date as I've foirgotten them, which means I can't post my makes on here at the moment.

I have also been making lots of those wiggly bags I saw mentioned on here. I want to post the pics of them on my blog asap to raise the awareness even more. Isn't it funny how the internet is like a chain reaction for something like this, it just goes on and on reaching more and more people.

I have just updated my blog with the kindle cases and have sold three already:j well chuffed. Hope I get some more orders for them, now I have making them down to a fine art they are really enjoyable to make.

I'm still making sock monkeys too.....got another three union jack ones in progress at the moment...busy, busy:rotfl:

I'm loving everyones makes, am going to keep up with the thread better again now Christmas has gone and things are back to normal.

Meggilo - I just cant seem to be able to "follow" you! There is another button on top of the "follow me" button, so when I click it takes me to a blog candy site. I try every time I see you on here!

    Hi Tamster,

When you are looking at a blog, make sure you are signed in on your own account first. When you click on Follow, and select, follow publicly etc., another box pops up that says done. Make sure you click on the Done!

Sometimes when you click through to a blog from here it doesn't automatically sign you in! Maybe this is the problem?

    Hope this helps

  • Fruit-loop, yes it is an in the hoop pattern, its for the 5x7 hoop, she also does a bigger size too. http://moosebstitchin.net/reader_cases_2.htm

Maggielo ~ Is this an "in the hoop" embroidery machine pattern made all on the embroidery machine? If it is could you link to the pattern please as I wouldn't mind making a couple of these for friends, as yours came out so lovely.:)

Tamster, I have no idea about why you can't follow me:( I hope what Sarah said will help you out, it sounds logical about going straight from here to there without logging into blogger yourself. I would love you to follow my blog, I also want to be updating it at least three times a week now, possibly more if I can. The trouble is, that I lead such an uneventful life that sometimes its hard to fill the page:rotfl:

I am so pleased that my DH came home from work yesterday with my bag of bits and bobs that I make and a lady in his office has brought three items:T A CK tissue case, a baby door hanger and a bookmark. She has also ordered me to make her a second embroidered fairy pincushion like I made her last year:rotfl:

I feel like givijng up on folksy as the traffic just doesnt seem to be there. How does everybody else shift their makes that they sell please? I absolutely love making things and they are of good quality as I am a perfectionist lol, but I don't want them all piling up in my fabric cupboard waiting for somebody to buy them. My DH said I should only make things when I know who to give it to for a present. Well, yes thats all very well, I love giving hand made things as presents but I do occassionally need a bit of cash back from them to purchase the next lot of fabric:rotfl:

Hi ladies, back again for some advice - sorry to be such a pain - but I dont seem to be getting very far in my journey to get started stitching :-(. Went to my local Boyes which is the only local shop I can think of that sells fabrics etc. Well the choice was very poor so left empty handed. I also wanted to buy some Bondaweb but they tried to flog me wondaweb and I knew it was wrong - so left empty handed. Anyhoo I have a website recommended to get that. So after all that waffling...(sorry) what make/thickness of interfacing would you recommend that is pretty universal for when you are not sure what you are wanting to make??? Does that make sense.

I am just wanting to get stuff in so that I am good to go. Its just I've got no one close by to ask for help my mum doesnt do any sewing (she says shes allergic to needles!) and no friends sew either.

    Thanks in advance xx

    Hi Alib

Definately medium weight. Only occasionally do you really need to use lightweight and heavyweight is good but only if you want really strong stability. Your choice if you get sew in or iron on. I pretty much always use iron on but I know some people prefer sew in. xx

That is what I usually do, but there is a button which says "Free backrounds" on top of the "Follow" button, so when I try to click on the "follow" button, I get sent to a blog candy site. I tried simply clicking & dragging the other button it but that didnt work either.
  • Ok I am following you now Meggielo.

I remembered Pootle's post last week - I added a "subscribe to blog" linky thing on my toolbar so now if I am reading a blog that I like I just click subscribe in my toolbar! phew!

I am hoping to finish one of my quilts tonight so just a quick visit today!
