I'm not sure about fleece in the microwave either. I believe fleece is made from all our recycled plastic bottles and would be concerned about it melting into a thick smoking mess in the microwave.

Not done much this week, was hoping to get loads done but had the kids x 4 off school plus hubby so actually kids x 5 at home.

But I have cut out 4 pleated bags and made aout 20 christams cards. Can't believe I went out today and managed to get some glue I was after and found a little shop in a village nearby that sold fusible interfacing and he knew what i was talking about. I think he may have had it a while as its a little yellow along the edges but as long as it does the trick.

here here i have to agree lol.

another question in poundstrecher today i noticed they had some cheap fleece blankets including a dora explorer one and i was wondering if i could use these to make things such as cushion covers and wheatbags with, its just they were so cheap i could give it a go
I'm not sure how well it would wash but it would work well as a cheap wadding.

  • I have just had the November issue of the Sew Today magazine delivered. It has an article in it about sewing machines with a guide to the different types of machines and what different features are. It also shows a wide range of sewing machines from different manufacturers. If anyone is looking to buy a machine it would make quite useful reading.

Don't put fleece in the microwave! It will melt.

Making a practice party dress and I am pretty pleased, Ive done perfect flounced sleeves (the little ones) and my gathering is now perect after the discovery that 2 or 3 rows of stitches is the proper way to do it :D

I don't think I'll be using this pattern, it's pretty but the proportions look wrong for what I want. It's an old out of print baby dress. But every time I make something I am improving.
