Evening all,
We are having a Halloween on sunday for my little girl so i have spent all week making things for that and its her birthday next week so have also been doing bits for that. This has meant i haven't had any chance to sew for a while and have neglected you guys for a bit - sorry:o . Hopefully tomorrow i will start making the fabric party bags for DD's party and i also need to start on a fabric advent calendar!!. Not enough hours in the day
Georgia love the glasses case and the drawstring bag:T.
Genie that noticeboard is fab well done:T
Meggielo your corner bookmarks are stunning. i am so envious of your machine i'd love to be able to embroider my daughters name on a bag i'm making. i do have a computerised machine though so will have to comprimise and do the letters in patchwork and use a fancy stitching round the edge of each:D
Ages ago someone posted a link for making purses (was it you pootle or hart?:D)i can't find it so could someone post it again as i have some purse frames and want to make a hello kitty purse for My DD.V 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550 -
On the Saints and Pinners website, they have 1 metre scrap bundles back in stock. I have been waiting ages as i missed out last time. However, I wont be buying them this time as they were £4 then and £7.50 now.
However, I know some of you like to buy scraps as they are ideal for small projects and you would never be able to afford such a selection of designer fabrics otherwise.

Nice makes by the way. My machine is finally repaired & running. I had bit of a problem getting the tension right, not sure if I have damaged the tension disk or just the jolt upset it.
To set my tension I just move the dial left or right. I can never remember which is which. Just wondering if anyone knows the rhyme that reminds you which way is top and which way is bottom?0 -

Thanks dizzy. The purses link was from hart on page 165.
hmo, the closure is like a flexi frame and I got the tutorial from gemsmember - see page 55.0 -
Ive just had a look at that link at the scrap bundles. Great idea to sell bundles like that, but I've definately got enough scraps of my own:D
I love that idea with the metal tape measure, I've seen that done before, its a great idea.
Those little draw string bags look great too, the possibilities are undless of what you could use them for.
That glasses case looks really neatly made the way the end opens up, I like that. I'm afraid I am a bit lazy when it comes to making things and usually find a pattern rather than doing it out of my head:eek: Cheating a bit really! I finally listed my bookmarks in my folksy shop. I figured if I don't list them I'm never going to sell them and I only wanted one for my Mum's stocking filler!! If she sees them, she sees them!!! I want one for my Dad too, I'm thinking brown, green or black and white for him...still thinking:cool:0 -

IMPORTANT REALISATION - with the recession continuing, and the price of Cotton rising lots, and with the new year VAT rise, i think it's our duty to build our stashes to see us through the lean times to come!
So it's practially Money Saving to stock up our cupboards now!! :rotfl: :T :money:Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
so with the above thought running through my mind, i didnt think twice about spending £25 (!!!) in a lovely quilting shop yesterday! I got some good 'rooster red' to complete what i need for a new quilt with an American Civil War colour theme, some big scraps, 2 fqs of 'manly fabric' to make my OH a cushion for Xmas, and accidentally bought a Moda Layer Cake that the lady reduced from £27 down to £15 just for me!
its a lot to spend in one go, but with it keeping me busy for months, really it is monesaving, i promise!!:money:Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Well if that can be stretched to other kinds of fabric it really is my duty to buy the coat fabric I have my eye on. :T0 -
