LJM I'm sneaking in another four hens and hoping my DH won't notice LOL. My Mum says do you think he can't count? LOL. He said no more until the old ones don't outnumber the new ones as they are very hard to mix. My ex batts killed one of my new ones last time I added some to the exsisting flock. I was heartbroken, I still have a picture of that hen on my phone 6 months later, as my wallpaper. I'm a bit wiser this time around though it won't happen again!0

I found the doorstop...its absolutely gorgeous, I'm going to see if I can find where Vicki got the pattern from.
The embroidered patchwork squares are amazing. I will post pics of them here as I don'nt want to put any photos on my blog of them as my friend is a follower and I want them to be a surprise when she sees them. I will be seeing her at the hen rescu on the 6th so I will give them to her then. Hoping to stitch them out over the weekend.0 -

I have been busy making loads and loads of corner page bookmarks out of my scrap Cath Kidston fabric. I will take some photos of them over the weekend to add to this thread for feedback.
Do you have a tutorial for these please?Jack of all trades ... Master of none

The bookmark is a PES file which is a digitalised embroidery file. You load it into your sewing machine via a usb cable to the sewing machine. My machine is an embroidery one although it converts into a 'normal' machine too.
If you have an embroidery machine I can send you the link as there is no copyright on it as it was a free download. Unfortunately if your machine is a 'normal' sewing machine the file won't be any good to you.
Let me know if it will be of any use to you.0 -

I'm working on my post count as you may have noticed LOL so I can post the pics. There are some pictures of my makes on my blog and in my folksy shop (via my blog) but not the bookmarks as they are presents and I don't want my Mum seeing them as she reads my blog and she is going to get a couple in her stocking!
Hopefully I will have my post count up by tomorrow so I can post some pics.
I'm off to bed now.0 -
Ooh, just been reading your blog meggielo.
You've made some beautiful things. I really like the patchwork embroidered cushions.
The tissue holder you made for your Mum is lovely too. How on earth do you sew velcro on like that?
Your Mum has given you some fantastic presents! I would love to unwrap something like that.0 -

Wow pennib, you have been busy. They're gorgeous.0

Georgiabay, thank you for your kind words on my cushions. They were actually all made out of scrap, leftover material in my stash. The embroideries on them were samples of new embroidery patterns that I was trying out for the first time. I thought rather than waste them I could incorporate them into cushions. Oh, actually I just realised you may be talking about different cushions LOL. The ones with vintage type birds sewn on Laura ashley print fabric are more recent ones, but the ones with more than one embroidery on them are older ones. I won 2nd prize with those ones on the website I got the designs from. The first time I have ever won anything LOL. The velcro is sewn on by my embroidery machine as part of a digital pattern, so I can't take the credit for the neatness of it LOL.
Pennib, thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. I didn't realise it was you until I went for a closer look at your sock monkeysthey are amazing, especially the pink ones. I have just had a look at your blog and Omg I couldn't leave!! Its fabulous you are very talented. Your paintings are amazing, I wish I had the gift to paint.
I have added your blog to my blog list and I will be back later for more reading:D I know what you mean about how busy the rest of the country is. I don't know if you saw it but I spent a week on the Isle Of Barra in August (amazing place) and it was a shock to the system both on the island (lack of everything) and back on the mainland (lots of everything).0
