LOL oh right, thank you for that. So now I know. I'd better keep popping back tonight to get my post count up then:D
I'm loving this thread as anything with sewing in it interests me. I also love hens...I have 6, soon to be 10:T
Does anybody else here have an embroidery machine?0 -
hi meggielo, welcome:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

I've got six hens as well meggielo, although I use the term loosely as five of them look to be turning into cockerels!0

Thank you. OMG cockerals, will you be able to keep them? What a nighmare. Mine are all ex batts so I can be sure they are all girls
Saying that, there has been two cockerals that I know of been rescued along with the ex bat ladies in the past.

Oh, It's ok because we got them as chicks from my daughter's friend's brother and he said we could change any cockerels, but we're going to keep one for future chicks. Trouble is they've all got girl's names!0

That's not so bad then. I have had my hens for two years and only two have names!! Brown hen and mad hen LMAO the rest are just hens lol. I do know who's who though and can also tell the voices apart these days.
I am hoping to make a load of patchwork squares that are embroidered next week. One in particular I have fallen in love with and that has a cockeral on it, although when I embroider it instead of all the colours I am going to make it different shades of brown with a bit of white like an ex batt:D I am making four for a friend who is one of the chief ex batt rescuers at the farms the hens come from. She is making her first patchwork quilt and I want to make her these to incorporate into it. One also has a cat on it and she has 11 cats!! So I think this will go down well:D0 -
They sound really nice.0

Another one with hens here. I lost my last ex batt 2 days ago she was 4 years old so had a good life out of the cage. Did you see the hen doorstops on here the other day? Sorry can't remember who made them, but they were lovely. I found the template on the hobycraft site so I think when I get the time I may make one.0

No I didn't see the doorstop. I'll have a search for it in the minute though.
Were you thinking of getting any more ex batts? Four is a fantastic age for a hen isn't it.
Henrehomers uk are doing a rescue on the 6th November and their books close tonight on this rescue. I help out with the hen rescues each time, that's how I know about it:D If you are interested go to henrehomers website and fill out an aplication form now. They need to be paid for tonight by paypal or cheque too as the books close at 12am.
Anything with a hen on it catches my attention, so I'm off to find the doorstop if I can.0
