Segga - you can do sock monkeys by hand no problem. I have only recently started doing them on my machine.
Currently experimenting with hair at the moment - pics on SM thread.

Hard to get a pic that isn't blurred, but I made a Cupcake Pincushion with wire wool in to keep needles and pins sharp.

Justamum; Haha those are new socks bought just for the monkey's!

Segga1986; I don't know about sulking but it plays on my mind till I get it and then if it doesnt match up to
the idea in my head I go into 'I can't do anything right' mode!!

Cuddles; Like the cupcake pincushion. I made one from a small terracota flower pot, it was supposed to
be a toadstool but it didnt turn out right, but it keeps my pins in one place!

Hart I know what you mean about fabric withdrawal. Just got some in the post for my bookcase. I like
it but will it suit. I have posted a picture of it on my blog.
  • Hello, I'm new to sewing and want to start making home furnishings for a house we are renovating. I have very little experience of sewing. I have seen that the Which magazine recommend the Brother BC2100 as a good machine for beginners and I'v found it for around £175. Do people feel this is a good starter machine or does anyone have any other recommendations. Thank you.
