Hart, that book looks good just had a quick nosy and already think why haven't I done that before. Ironing the interfacing on before cutting out the pattern.
I have always cut them separately then ironed. Can't see that I would be wasting any more interfacing.
I always save small bits of interfacing because it's good for applique and embriodery so I guess if you aren't going to use the extra bits it would work well. Less cutting out sound like it could be worth a bit of waste though.
  • Hi all.
I'm just starting sock moneky no. 3, by hand... Not sure how he'll turn out but hoping with all that I can that he is good. Really want to feel like I've achieved something when he's done.
1 & 2 were okay but nothing to get too excited about unfortunately :(
    Wish me luck!
1st go at anything is never great for me I always have to tweak to get things right. I made 1 sock monkey but I have to confess they don't interest me enough to make another DD1 keeps asking where hers is.

Segga1986; Do you have car boots or thrifty shops near you. They are often a good place for picking up sewing boxes.

segga1986 You must be right about the inner child. If there is something I really want I go to bed thinking of it and it's my first thoughts in the morning. For example fixating on the doors to my new(old) bookcase. Have at last ordered the material and just hope that it how I imagine . If not hmmmm.... OH likes it without. (not that I trust his judgement in anything decorative haha)

Aw thanks about my blog you're making me blush! I do hope to put something on most days, it's all new territory to me it's great :0)

and also made my very first sock animal. I made an Owl - anyway it's all on my Blog and I thank you for posting and giving me the inspiration and courage to do so myself. Have had a really good sewing day today.

Your all putting me to shame. I havent sewn a thing since the night before my last attempt at the market stall.! So thats nearly two weeks ago already! Yet the dining room table is still completely covered with things. I had hoped to sew yesterday but was unwell and therefore unable to do. I am looking in envy at all the lovely things and frustration at myarm not working enough for me to sew.
Maybe I will attempt something little later on. See how I go.
Love the tidy and pincushion. My Pincushion is one my Mum made me about 20 years ago! There are meany a pin stuck inside it at the moment.!
Happy sewing everyone. Keep up the good work, and Hopefully I will be back amongst you all soon!.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
