I have finally finished the little Oliver & S top I have been working on for my son. I will try & upload the photos later today.
danemi1 frayed edges seem to be the "thing" at the moment. I borrowed a book from the library on freehand machine embroidery by this lady http://www.poppytreffry.co.uk/ All her designs are "a bit rough around the edges"
Maybe you could sew the flower on poppy-style?
I posted earlier about a broken zip - can anyone help me please?0 -
I spent ages in my local Dunelm the other week looking for it and the lady said they didn't do it anymore!!!! Might be different in your local one but try ringing them first to save yourself a trip. I get mine in local fabric shop and its what I would have suggested as well. It will stop the fabric fraying and stick it to the jacket. Although it says thats all you need I would never trust it on its own and would also stitch it down, either by hand (I'm rubbish at hand stitching but love a bit of blanket stitch around a motif!) or machine stitch but on an existing garment machine stitching might be tricky. Heres a picture of what I buy but I don't pay that much for it! Heatnbond is a similar product although I've never seen in the flesh.0

Ok Ladies - I have added pictures of my latest achievement to my homepage! The Oliver and S Sailboat top I have made from a man's linen shirt bought at the car boot for 50p. I am very pleased with it!
Now back to my quiltmaking... (erm I meant children)0 -
Hi Everyone:wave:
I'm back home from my hols (and straight back to work :-( !!). I have loads of pages on here to catch up on and so many blogs to read...... I am doing a craft fair on saturday so going to be busy all week trying to get lots of sewing down (not sure when in between working full time and sorting family, house etc!!).
For anyone who's interested i will be uploading some pics from my hols on my blog today.

For those of you who quilt this page has a few ( 1st 3 ) covers you could cut up & use.
I pointed them out to a friend who thought they were ideal for her projects so thought I'd share.
alas all out of stock, would have been great for the bunting I need to make. Ah well. I am supposed to be using recycling, but from buying new might be stretching it a bit!.
Making DGD some pjamas from the tops of some adult Pjamas. Bit fiddly as I didnt have a pattern. But hopefully this evening I will get them finished.
Sold a few things at the weekend, and have orders for my scented sachets. So encouraging start to the market stall. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
