  • Hi! Someone else was asking the same question about taggie blankets the other day (I wondered the same thing TBH.) Here is the bit in the thread that will help. From Page 182 onwards.

Nuttywomen i love that sexy cow!

Right, can anyone help me. I have been washing my pram ready to sell and the zipper has broke on the sunshade (it looks like this)

    http://www.shade-a-babe.co.uk/acatalog/Mountain_Buggy_Style_Single_3_Wheeler_Shade-a-Babe.html#a84

One of the zippers, came off the "track" on one side. When I managed to put it back on, it then came of the other side. And is isn't grabbing the "teeth" Can I fix it or does the whole thing need to be replaced??

PLease can anyone advise me - My daughter has a new denim jacket but its a bit plain and I thought this morning I'd jazz it up a little so I have got my sizzix out and cut a flower out of laura ashley red gingham and have then gone around the centre in black thread and am going to place a black button right in the middle of that - looks cute - only problem is its starting to fray just a little around the edges - obviously at some stage the jacket will get washed - am worried if I sew it onto the jacket that on first wash or even before it will fray lots and look daft - is there any way around it - I wondered about dipping the flower before I put the button on in pva glue and letting it dry - would that work - or has anyone any suggestions - I am very very new to sewing - as in last 3 weeks - please help - thanks

could you make it into a brooch instead - add some dangly ribbons/beads and then you just need to unpin it before washing (I am assuming of course that it will be somewhere on the front of the jacket). Otherwise you could try using something like wondaweb to bond it to the fabric and then applique stitch round it?

Would also say depending on the colour denim you might be best to wash the jacket a couple of times in case the dye runs......

thanks hun - I wanted to see how it went and then put various bits all over the jacket - it is a really pale denim jacket so I dont think anything would run - do you think the pva glue would work - dont have any wunderweb

not sure how washable pva glue would be.....might have to google and look into that.... would hate to wreck your washing machine! I'm sure someone else will be along that might know though. You could try proper fabric glue and see if that works....maybe try on a couple of scraps of fabric first though....
