Thankyou, now I have a name to the type of material I'm after that will help loadsThankyou x

Hello ladies,
I'm going to be getting the sewing machine back out soon, I'm making a roman blind and some swags and tails like this:
I can't see it being that difficult but the online instructions end up getting me all confused. Does anyone know of a simple tutorial?
I assume the blind is straightforward too but I haven't started looking at it yet so if anyone has a link to that I'd be very grateful.
I'm looking forward to doing a bit of sewing now, I have lots of things I want to make and lots of lovely fabric use up!

Let me know how you get on Vicki. I bought material ages ago to make curtains and I never did. I'm also thinking of making some roman blinds as I recently paid about £180 for one.
I found a fabric shop in Maldon the other day that sells cheap fabric. They had Globaltex for £10 a metre which is a good price. Sorry I know you said you already had fabric but it doesn't hurt to look0 -
Just had a very sucessful trip into town, managed to get everything I need for my blinds so I hope I can do it sometime this week. I actually have really good instructions for both things in a book I already own! I'm too dependent on the internet!
I will of course let you know how it goes.
Shirlgirl - what is the shop, sounds interesting, my best friend lives in Maldon so maybe I could tie it in with a trip to hers. And also I fancy foraging for samphire there too if there's time!0 -
Search for Beanie Filling.... I spent ages looking for plastic beads when I should have seached for Beanie! :rotfl:
I'm still struggling to find filling with a bit of weight for doorstops and chickens.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Googled and checked ebay for beanie filling, but can't find anything.:(Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Bird cage grit? I used some recently for a doorstop doll I made recently (and haven't finished yet)
