Sadly I don't knit, thank goodness really as I have't time for all the things I do like to do.
Have cleaned up my craft space but moved on to decorating DD's bedroom. Took me a morning to remove all the posters & junk. Just a lick of paint, before she plasters it with Bieber posters again.

Loving the Car Boot Sewing Boxes, I want a new sewing box, but everything in the shops just seems too small!

My mum has a lovely sewing box table - its a square box on legs about 2ft square and 18" deep and has a round hinged top. It's really beautiful and I keep dropping hints about how nice it would look in my house but it's not working!

The one on the left is made from remnants of the material I used for a dress and the other our my sons pj's.

and the cake I made for a friend.

    I love your bags Dizzy.

I just love the door stops and want to make one for my daughter to match her room decor (beatrix potter). Can you point me in teh direction of a pattern? I'm relatively new to sewing and just got my first machine. I'm slowly graduating from cushion covers!

Well I've been busy knitting for my Grandson, due in October.
Daughter likes traditional things, so wanted mittens on a string.

But after looking at all your fantastic makes, I'm itching to sew again.
I'm not really a knitter and have just taught myself, but love sewing more I think.

Pooky - is that kitty from the pattern you mentioned buying from ebay?
Loads of my family would love one as a gift, just a shame the pattern is so expensive. Could you post details agin so that I can look out for it please?

    Also loving the doorstops.

R.Mac the door stops are from a book called 'Sewing in no time' but I did change them slightly.
    But I did find this:
http://lucyjanegallery.blogspot.com/2010/04/making-of-doorstop.html, it is loaded with pictures. I didn't use velcro though, just had the 6
sides all the same and left a gap on one seam for turning. Inside on one of the doorstops I had some cardboard top and bottom, some stuffing out of
a cushion and a small bag of gravel from the garden for the weight. Rice is too expensive where I live lol.

I use my old nappy box (like a huge tool box from Mothercare) as a sewing box-it's perfect!
