Does anyone have any ideas for use of t shirt material. OH has had a major clearout. Only thing I can think of is pj bottoms for DS which is fine as they are always useful.

hogshead, I don't know if you knit or crochet, but if you do how about trying this?
Oh dear, here we go again.

Thanks guys for checking it was working for me.

Pootle your bag is great do you have any instructions as i think my neice would love one of those.

Here are a few of my makes this week (more pics on my blog).

Love this batch of stuff too Tina. You have been busy!!

The tutorial I used was this one (I omitted the outside pocket) and I just changed the sizes as below (1/4" seam allowance) to make it a dinkier one.

    Body: 11" wide x 19" long
    Flap: 9" wide x 10.5" long

Strap was about 33" long x 3.5" wide (just use whatever size you need plus around 1.5" extra.)

    :)

Oh, I am so full of things to do now. Dont know where to begin. I have a small project on the go. Making some Animal shaped scented bags. Which I hope I will finish this evening when DGD goes to sleep. I really am getting lots of inspiration, thanks people. So many great blogs! I spend far too much time on the computer and not enough at the sewing machine!.

Went to CB yday with my OH and some friends. My OH and his mate went round on their own, and i went with with his wife, a good crafty friend of mine! We did a bit of a bargain hunt, see who could get the best bargains!!!! Good fun! Must say, my friend and i won hands down, but my OH came back to me with a special purchase for me - I love him to bits bless him!!! £5 - bargain!4760743671_7f3e82c73c.jpg

This sewing box, he knew i wanted an old sewing box, and he saw this and swiped it before his mate could get it for his wife! hahaha, all good fun. It has all sorts of bits and bobs in it aswell, some old thread in there with the price on - 5d!!!! Some old singer machine needles. In a really old lil box - i love it!

You can just see the lil green singer box, its smaller than a match stick box, just at the top on the left hand side

Omg i cant belive how excited i am by the sewing box and its contents!!! :rotfl:

Thanks Pootle for the link to the messenger bag tutorial. I Have come across it before but I think, they way they describe ading the flap is so much clearer than others, as I would like to have a go at making an evening bag or two with a flap.

Great finds Natc I miss things like that over here we have the odd market but not the same. Remember dragging my eldest round on a Sunday to different carboots. Used to see the same sellers going from the morning to afternoon ones.

  • Nice sewing boxes, lucky you! I really must get round some car boot sales as I seem to have got out of the habit. Last time I went I managed to pick up a reel of ribbon and also some cord too.

Lately I have been sewing up some pretty little lavender scented hearts which have been embellished with a thank you message. I thought they would be fab for teachers' gifts for the end of term. Makes a change from the usual chocolates or 'best teacher' mug, eh? Sorry I have forgotten my Photobucket password so I can't upload photos onto here, if you want to see photos of them you can see them on my blog.

Off to make some more hearts. My spare room stinks of lavender! :p

I love your blog Molly. The lavender hearts are a really good idea for the teachers, I think they'll appreciate them - and the coaster.

natc, how exciting to get the sewing boxes full of goodies.
