i was gonna ask this. as i been looking at ebay for some and there so many. i don't want to waste my money and buy a pair which won't be very good.
Fiskars are good and expensive but I bought mine on Ebay for the price of a much cheaper pair.

artydoll, that is so cute with the opening. I like the icecream ones too. How do you do the ice cream bit?

    Thanks for your comment ,
to do the icecream bit you make a long white sausage of fabric ,roll polyester stuffing in as you sew up the long sides together, then roll into a cumberland sausage shape and stitch by hand ,catching each layer of the roll as you go round it tuck the end into the middle and secure with little stitches .
Then attach the icecream bit securely to your ready made and stuffed "cone".
Dont know if you can follow my not too great instructions .Ill try to put up some drawings to help if you want.

    Good evening!

Someone mentioned (think it was Essex Girl) on shabby chic thread today about getting free swatch samples from John Lewis - I think its great! Ive just ordered some now, and also found a few other sites that offer free swatches - you all prob know about this anyway - was just excited! Has anyone made anything from swatches received? Someone mentioned that some can be so small that you cant use them for anything....i was thinking of making little purses or something small like that for my niece to play with if nothing else.

    Hi Natc,
I got the John Lewis swatches and loads from another company (linkie is on this thread somewhere) and have made a few pincushions and also made a make up bag by cutting squares from the John Lewis ones and sewing them together. Photo on my blog. Also posted a photo on here somewhere showing all the swatches Id got. There were loads of them! Great for making little projects. :)
