  • Fab sewing on here as always. It really motivates me to sew seeing what everyone is up to :j

I have been sewing a few different types of bags and zipped pouches. I will put some photos on here tomorrow if anyone wants to see them, lol. Tomorrow I will be sewing up some bunting and if I've got time (really should do some housework and the ironing mountain is dangerously high!) maybe I'll have a go at sewing the cushion pad for the wicker chair which I'm renovating. I've been avoiding the cushion as the original one, which I'm going to use as a template, is quite old and a bit dusty and smelly. Maybe I should put a peg on my nose! Oh the joys of old furniture, lol.
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

Hello you lot, just popped over to say for those who admire the fabrics over at fabric rehab - they have just added some budget bundles to their shop. Each bundle is approx 1 FQ and is £2 each. P&P is £1.75 as far as i am aware

Dont worry tina you're not the only one, i bought 4 bundles haha!

Natc - a FQ is a fat quarter. I have no idea what the back story is, but i understand it to be 18 inches by 22 inches of material :) The fabrics are amazingly funky, i have spent a bob or two in there before!

It is aimed at beginners and in it there are lots of references to dressmaking such as pleats, darts, seams, cutting out accurately, pattern marking, zips, buttonholes, etc. The projects are like jewel roll, bolster pillow, roman blind, mans tie, needle case, apron, cushion, etc.

It is more of a reference book, I'd get something else if you are interested in projects, etc. Get it out from the library if you are unsure.

Just thought id let you know, i think im going to end up buying this book, but ive reserved it in my library for when it becomes available, which hopefully will be at the end of the month if the person brings it back and doesnt take it out again  hahaha.
