You brilliant lot, I love that bag lots! The dress is really pretty and the little skirt is really cute, I think it would be brilliant in a fine cord or even light denim with embellishments.

Heres my lil girls skirt. it is pale pink with a white trim with little pink dots on it. Tori wanted it just above her ankles but it is mid calf which she loves. i'm so chuffed.

going to make a two tone colour one next for her.

genieuk your bag is stunning. i love it. what striking material. i expect your get lots of comments when using it.

do you have a pattern for it ?

i am wondering al these lush bags i'm seeing does there have to be a certain thickness of material ? or can you use any material that you just love ? i've read alot have used tea towels, and they tend to be quite a thickish material. so would this be best ?

and kandipandi, demin wth embelishments sounds a fantastic idea. my little girl would love it. could do a nice red gingham trim to it.

  • Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help. My shopping trolley bag has split. I will try a repair job but if that fails how do I make a new one? What kind of fabric would I need to use as it needs to hold up to all that shopping? I have a sewing machine but it's shiny & new, it's only been used a few times & I really am learning along the way as this is all new to me. Many thanks.

Hi, this is the 1st bag I started with (I had not done any sewing for years) it was so easy and you could make it a bit bigger for shopping :D
I got some medium weight curtains from a charity shop to make mine :D

Thank you for the comments he dress is from a bought pattern there are faults but I remind myself its my first attempt using a pattern in 20+yrs.
The material is a duvet cover from Argos I didn't want to ruin expensive material, I also lengthened the pattern by 3cm (a guess) as I am 6ft tall.

The bag is from the ric rac bag tutorial took a little longer than an hour. The material is tea towels from asda I did use to heavy an interfacing but
persevered. The only problem I have is that I didn't wash them first sometimes tea towels shrink and mishape badly, so the colour is smudging is there
any way I can fix the colour.
