:T everyone's been making lots of great stuff! so much it's hard to remember!

dizzytina - that skirt is too cute! i'd want one!

Vicky - you're son's over glove looks just like the real thing! (is it? i need a new one and hadnt thought about making one!)

Tamster - wow! you read back all those pages?! i've read pretty much all of them too, but i've been here since pretty much the start!

Cuddles - thanks for the info. i've not come accros that sort of patchwork / quilt before, really interesting. and so good to see it's lasted so well.

Hart - WOW!! your quilt is awesome! and you've totally put me to shame on the time you took to complete it! i hope we see lots more!

The glove is constructed the same but I used a piece of thin quiliting from our old duvet cover as the wadding, I don't think it would be thick enough to use with a real oven. I think you can buy the special heat proof stuff, I need to look into this as I need a new one too!

I've used rip stop for waterproofing, I made a bag to go in DD swimming bag for putting wet things in and also lined her lunch bag with it. Works really well. Need to get some more for this years lunch bags actually!!

Hubbie does a lot of sport, so perhaps I shall make him a waterproof bag. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the offer. I don't have or know anyone with a little girl, so will pass on this one, but thanks for the offer.

thanks for that seems simple enough. so is the ribbon acting as a kinda draw string top so it can pull it in to size ?

What fantastic things you have all been making.

Tutu's, I once made one each for my DD's they were so popular I ended up making dozens & selling them, I gathered layers of coloured net on to lengths of ribbon, the ribbon was then tied to size round the childs middle.

Coasters, try adding some spices to the coasters, the smell really comes out when a hot mug is placed on them.

I made superhero capes for the boys, wallhung pocket tidies were also popular.

I've been going through my stash & decided to make a bag out of some green needlecord, but I'm stumped with what to do with 2 huge, brand new net curtains, any ideas anyone?

    Hugs Hester

Wow the quilts everyone has done are beautiful :D

When I did mine I found this blog that was very helpful for the corners :D

Hope it helps anyone else looking at making patchwork stuff :D

Brilliant link thanks very much! I sat and made a cup coaster like 23rd Spiral's last night and I got all confused at what to do with the corners.:o

Yes the link i gave you uses elastic which is what i did with the first few i made then i decided to make it a bit fancier by using ribbon. If you are unsure i would make one exactly as the instructions show with elastic and then close the opening and then you can do another by sewing the side seam first as it says but leaving a gap at the top for when you roll over the bit that you thread your ribbon or elastic through. I'm sure that makes no sense but should make more sens when you are actually doing it:D
