I've ordered quilting fabric from America quite frequently. I especially went mad last year when the pound was so strong against the dollar. My favourite website is http://www.fabrickshack.com
They can fit up to 9 yards in an envelope for $10 postage and always have loads of fabric ranges on sale. It gets here quickly too. I've had to ban myself from this website as even just looking makes me come up with new projects and I have so many on my to do list already.
Just be careful when ordering from the US as we are only allowed a certain value before we have to pay tax and a charge of about £8 at the Post Office to collect it. There's an article on MSE that explains it here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/best-buy-usa#web0 -

I had a sewing machine for about 8 years and I used it twice to make capes & some really awful tab top curtains.
I am loving sewing so much now. I also joined the ShabbyChicCafe which is an extension of here. I learnt so much from those ladies, it's unbelievable.
Now I am making loads of stuff. My blog is here and has tonnes of stuff that I have made.

I haven't updated it recently as I have been so busy with Christmas and the like.
I managed 5 lined shopping bags from a Lidls single duvet cover plus a union jack cushion, several sunglass cases and some diary covers.
Charity shops are a fantastic source for fabric, old curtains, duvet covers etc. Even new ones when they are in a sale are fabtastic.
thankyou! your blog is very inspiring!! (and its taught me to look out for tea towels!..good tip there)...i am so sick of trying to find decent priced fabric...i have never made stuffed hearts yet, so i think i'll try some later on as i have some lavender left over from making bath bombs.
oh and how did your fayre go?totally a tog!:D0 -

i've used them too, as well as www.zandsfabric.com and just ordered from www.equilter.com as well as using etsy, i always keep the order less than $32 and haven't been charged customs etc, although the exchange rate is worse now so might be different. for me it works out cheaper getting fabric from usa, as i live in the highlands/islands i usually get whopped with a bigger postage charge from mainland UK than USA!:rolleyes:totally a tog!:D0 -

Thanks for that stardrops! Looks a bit complicated for me, I'd never figure out how to make the bag pattern the right size and shape!!!
May I ask if anyone knows where to get cheap-ish frames??
