(I cant put a watch face on a pincushion the right way remember!) A Kaftan is just as technically difficult for me as a toilet bag!
Kandi - I love the cupcakes on your blog! How did you make them? (love your spottie fabric too)
Sarah - Thanks for the linky. I think thats just what Im looking for. Thanks again. x
p.s I shall be sure to post piccies of my Mum in her "duvet with a hole in it" on my blog once Ive finished. That should be a bit of a giggle!
Thanks for the kind words. My cupcakes are just cut from felt freehand, each bit is a seperate bit, case, cake, topping and cherry.
I then added bondaweb to the back and ironed them onto my material, finished off with stitches to secure in place. I'll post a better piccie in a bit.
The material was from my local factory fabric store, it was a remnant and cost me 50p! I got about 4 metres of the stuff. I have used it for allsorts, makeup bags, peg bags, pencil cases and still have loads of the stuff left - 50pYou can stand there and agonize........

Help..... I have just picked up some jersey type fabric to make my short jacket and Im having probs sewing it. My machine does a few stitches the get clogged unerneath
Im not sure what Im doing wrong, do the length of the stitch need adjusting?
Many thanks if anyone can help, I have to wear it Friday night but Im working all day Friday so only have today and tomorrow to finish it (I also work 6pm -9pm)
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Are you using a ball pointed needle? If not that may help. If your machine does not have a stretch stitch try using a narrow zig-zag. You can also try using tissue paper over the seam line and stiching through that as well as the material. Practise on some odd bits of fabric and hopefully you will find a solution. Good luck and enjoy your evening.0

Thank you very much for your help
I gave my machine a good clean and oil then practised on some spare fabric and it worked a treat with the small zig-zag
I have not made clothes for years and thought this would be good idea

Love the cupcakes Kandi
it's a nice idea to add to brighten items up with.
I have the sides of the jacket attached to the back and the edges all pinned just the sleeves to go (I might leave it till tomorrow :rotfl:)
I must be nuts to use jersey but I just wanted a cover-up over my black dress and DIL gave me some Prima patterns so it has only cost £3 to makeGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Well I have fallen behind on the craft thread and blog reading this last weekend, I have been busy either house rennovating or sewing! It took me a while but I made this doorstop for our silly living room door. I saw a cute cottage doorstop in Laura Ashley and thought pfffft I can make something similar for much less dollar, and I did!
Now to catch up on all this reading!

Hart ~ You will have to let us have a pic of the finished item.
Good old Prima patterns. My mum still makes fishtail jersey skirts with her old prima pattern, its so raggedy as it has been used permanently since about 1982!You can stand there and agonize........

That's really sweet! What did you fill it with?
I did the same thing picked one up the other week in Laura Ashley and it was £18 I think! I quickly put it down again!
I would make myself one but as I am always cold I keep all doors firmly shut and so I don't have a door to stop!
eta. Sorry for the question I just read your blog and got my answer! I will follow your blog if you dont mind, there are some lovely bits on there. You can stand there and agonize........
