I will follow you too Kandi but I havent figured out how to do it yet!!
My blog is now finished (been working on it for ages but Im not very good with computers so its taken a while as I managed to delete everything so had to put it all on again this morning!) Feel free to browse (although its most of the stuff Ive posted on here anyway so you will have seen most of it already.)0 -
Kandi - love your blog! and thanks, i've dug out the pattern for the quilt and i do indeed need 80 small white buttons. so i shall be taking all the buttons off of my thrifted shirts (for the fabric) and raiding by button tin to see how far i get. hey, it's progress!
pootleflump - lovely blog too! i've got a table runner in the flowery fabric that i thought would be cheerful in the kitchen but is actually just lairy! hum, more project ideas!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Yeah, thanks ladies! I have joined your blog Pootle, I had forgotten about the brill stuff you have done. I love this blogging lark, it makes it so much easier to follow the great stuff people make.
23rd Spiral ~ glad your poor neglected, sad old quilt is getting some attention (I'm trying guilt trip now). Hope you get the buttons you need, if not post a plea on here and we can all delve into our boxes and send some on.
Hart ~ get cracking with that blog - I have a blog addiction and need more - it's keeping me off the chocolate at the minute

You will need 4 x A4 sheet for your bag, and the same for the lining, adding a little for a seam allowance. Add a bit more for the pocket.
You may have some material you could reuse?
Not sure how experienced you are, but I would be tempted to try it with recycled or cheap fabric before buying anything pricey.
Don't forget that you need elastic, ribbon or cord and buttons too.
Please come back with a picture when it's finished.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Saw some lovely home made covers the other day. Patchwork, but just large squares in silky material and jewel colours. Looked very effective.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

These were my very 1st time at doing patchwork and were easier than I expected :rotfl:
I put 2 pieces on the back (one slightly over lapping the other and sewed the edges, I then put poppers on the flap but it was a bit messy so I then covered the sewing with little roses. I made them for Mother's day and my mum was delighted
