Thanks PepPop - my friend absolutely loved the change bag which made it easier for me to part with it...! I'm just making another little bag out of one of my little boy's fave pairs of trousers. They are brown cords (size 6-9months) so I've had to patch a lot of bits together to make a half decent size bag - I'm planning on edging it with the same flowery stuff I used for the change bag.

Kandi - can't believe your taggies weren't well received! My sister bought me one (paying loads!) when my baby was born and he loved it once he got a bit older. I guess maybe the new parents were just a bit bemused about parenthood and were a bit sleep deprived (or maybe they were just mean!) Pah to them - your taggies are fab :T:T:T

Genieuk - clap clap clap to your sock monkey! :T

Sunshine12 - I love the list of reasons to buy fabric - went to ikea yesterday and bought more for my stash.... husband not amused. Ho hum :o And thanks for the link to that fab site - love it.

Got a couple of tilda homestyle books for my birthday - haven't attempted to make anything yet but the pics are soooo inspiring. I want my house to look like every page :D Think I'll be making a few little hanging hearts.

Here's my latest make. Ignore the teddy (who could??) - he's just my obliging model - he's modelling a neck warmer (pouch full of rice, for warming in microwave or cooling in freezer). Tutorial on my blog - not quite as fancy as everyone's amazing clothes (well done pennypinchingmum) but teddy likes it :)

Thanks for the kind words, Im not suprised your friend was delighted with her bag its amazing, and there is no chance of bumping into someone with the same one!
Your neck warmer is great, Im planning on making a couple of these for my mum and MIL. I did attempt one but each time i warmed it up it became damp and I was worried the rice would go mouldy! I must read your blog to find how to do it properly! I think i will mix a bit of lavender in there too.
Can I ask where the material is from for your neckwarmer - its lovely.
    p.s. love your ted
    p.p.s. Happy Belated Birthday

Well this morning, I am off to visit a possible pupil for sewing lessons.!
As its a man, I am not quite so sure as to what to do for a sewing project until I have met him, and seen what he already knows.
Taking basic sewing machine information, and the straight and curvy lines that are good to practise sewing on.
I shall check out the kind of things that he wants to be doing and then if we are both in agreement we will do a series of lessons. Fingers crossed. I really do need to find something that I can do, since being struck with my illness, to get back into the work force!

I'm loving all of your projects and enjoying seeing your pics.

I have a question that you may be able to help me with - kind of sewing related. Both my printer and scanner need replacing and I'm looking at the multifunction ones. I mainly use the scanner for copying project templates from books like the Tilda ones. Does a book fit under the lid of your all-in-one printer and scan reasonably enough to work from?

Flossie, mine does. Its a scanner, copier and printer. When you put something thicker like a book into it to scan, it raises the back of the lid so it kind of extends to accommodate it. Some of them are just on normal hinges but lots of them do come with extended hinges for scanning thicker items.

Good luck with this Mooloo, I hope it works out for you. Perhaps he has a definite reason for wanting to learn to sew so you can tailor his lessons towards that.
Let us know how you got on.

Time flew bye, and i found my enthusiasm at last.!!
Busy day tomorrow, so doubt I will be on.
Got a cheap handbag this afternoon, from a charity shop, so I can use the handle to make the bag for my mum. fingers crossed I get the time.
