Watched the Sewing Bee with great interest.i knew the man Mark from my pub when I was a landlady some 8 years ago. Was so surprised to see one of my 'bikers' sewing.:rotfl:
I made some baby bandanas yesterday, and plodding on with my sofa cover. My back is bad so its all little bit here and little bit there at the moment.
I am using my kindle so will do pictures later. Alas no cameras on one of these beauties.

Haven't been on here for a couple of weeks dont know where the time has gone, though I've not been idol. I hope your all well and have managed to stay warm.

Made myself an apron from fabric I got at the craft show last month, have been doing some knitting and trying to teach myself to crochet as well. lol. have aso made my first button embrodery piece, I did a boat with fabric sails and a button hull. want to do a heart for my bedroom next.

The friend I made the curtains and things for their caravan have asked me to make the curtains for the bedrooms in the house so that will be the next project.

I see that there have been some lovely makes and that you have all been keeping busy.

    Take care

I recorded the programme, havent got round to watching it yet. I have been having a go at embroidering the quilt I sort of ruined in the evenings. Still got a fair bit to go on it but at least it wont look as bad as it did before. I have 4 bags cut out to sew up, two I have started on but its too cold in my sewing room at the moment to spend much time up there so hoping the weather picks up a bit next week and I can get back up to finish them off and start on something else.

Thanks Winnie. Fingers crossed I think I've solved it. Changed thread again, now using a brand new reel of good thread and it seems to have done the trick. So it seems you get what you pay for.

Hi Ladies, I'm a newbie here but not a total newbie to sewing. I started when I was in my teens and went to dressmaking classes at night school while my mates were getting drunk on the park!
I have decided to dust my machine down and make something for myself rather than just use it as an alteration machine! I bought a pattern for a simple t shirt top from my local haberdashery, it's a Butterick fast and easy and two lots of fabric and can't wait to start again!
Can anyone tell me where the best sources of fabric are online and in the Nottinghamshire area please?
    Happy sewing!

  • Remnant House are great, I've had loads from them in the past online and in person.
As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again
