Since a huge family problem has arrisen I have not been anywhere near my sewing machine. I hope that i will be back to it soon, as I have shown interest in a craft stall in June, and I dont really have a clue as to what I am putting on it!.
I shall have to pick your brains Rufusdog, as to what kind of things sell. (Think its a craft stall at a school, so thinking pocket money prices I suppose).
Does anyone have internal dimension for the annabelle bed matress please, I have found them online for the whole bed but can't tell which is height, width etcYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Hi everyone. I am new to this thread.
I have just started making a patchwork quilt for my daughters 21st birthday. I wanted to give her something she could keep as an heirloom. I already do a million other crafts lol. Anyway any words of wisdom will be gratefully received.I am a Dolphin Angel:A

Hmo I need your help. We had to make a small quilt on our course and you inspired me with your pin wheel quilt. Im only doing four pin wheels with a border between each one. Do you just do long strips of border to the finished pin wheels or does every pin wheel have its own border? Im not explaining my self very wellI'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0

Hi
What do you all do with your fabric scraps? I've spent the morning culling carrier bags down into more useable pieces, charm pack size etc and I think I'm going to have to go into business to use them all up! I do dressmaking so the pile is never going to get any smaller without some drastic action. Sadly nothing co-ordinates well enough to go into a quilt which would be the obvious choice.
Also does anyone know if there is a way of recycling the really small scraps? Seems such a shame to send them to landfill. As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again0 -

hi sorry only just seen this i took my little girl to see girls aloud last night so didnt get home till midnight.
the way i did mine was make the pinwheel block and then measure it once pressed.
whatever height it is cut the plain strip that height by the width you want, i think mine were 1.5inch wide so after qrt inch seem they ended up as 1inch
attach one strip to the right hand side of each block working from left to right across a row, dont put one on the right hand side of the last block
do that for each row
then press and measure your rows and cut a plain strip again at 1.5 by the length you need and attache it to each row
then i measured both side and the top and bottom and cut plain again for the borders.
does that help0 -

accurate measuring and cutting for all your fabric is vital, press every time you sew your blocks together, take your time be consistent with your seem allowance.
give yourself plenty of time and you will be fine0 -
