I have got on with my dress a bit more, now have the lining in, just need to sort out the hem and back slit opening and it will be finished but going to have a break for a week so I can concentrate on getting my quilt finished plus some little bits and pieces ready for my craft stall next weekend.
For some reason the notifications started to appear in my spam folderI'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0 -
Since a huge family problem has arrisen I have not been anywhere near my sewing machine. I hope that i will be back to it soon, as I have shown interest in a craft stall in June, and I dont really have a clue as to what I am putting on it!.
I shall have to pick your brains Rufusdog, as to what kind of things sell. (Think its a craft stall at a school, so thinking pocket money prices I suppose). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Keyings? Maybe a small owl or butterfly for girls and a car or football for the boys?
Bookmarks?
Small coin purses or mini bags?
Sorry if these aren't the kinds of things you normally make, just throwing some ideas out thereCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Thanks, I will get a start at the beginning of the week, I hope.
Mini bags, and purses I have a few ready made, but definitely could make more.
I have never made keyrings, but something I could look at. Although I dont have felt for those kind of jobs.
Most of my fabrics are curtain weight, or dress weight ones. Although I could make masses of stuff from Denim jeans.!
Thanks you have at least got the brain working again. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I made some Christmas decorations from denim, like http://melissagoodsell.typepad.com/day_to_day/2007/11/day-2---christm.html
Oh they turned out really cute
You could do denim flowers for headbands, or denim rosettes?
(goes off to look for my bag of denims and wonder what I can make...)

Traditional, especially for drying and polishing glass, is linen. Suspect expensive though!
I'd be inclined to buy rather than make - there are so many different kinds. We have some waffle ones that are boring to look at but dry well. Most of the printed pattern ones are useless for drying - they just get really wet real fast and don't actually dry very well. Nice as decorative items, but not very practical. We've got a few that are a kind of cross between plain cloths and towelling - not particularly pretty, but they work well for drying.
LOL I'm sorry not much use!Good luck with getting something nice for your new kitchen! And best wishes from chilly Liverpool.
