She said she was an interior designer and sick of the sight of them! Probably represented a lot of hopes she'd had for the business

The glue is coming off, slowly; soaked swatches in bowl of mild detergent, rubbed off wet card by hand then when nearly dry the rubbery glue rubs off too - slowly

Thank you for all the encouragement!

Mooloo - what do you do with the PE bags? (excuse me if you've already said, I have a whole thread to catch up on)

Well I have only made them as gifts for Birthdays when DGD gets invited to a party. But I thought that perhaps I could make a few and sell them on a table top sale or something similar. But I may sell them on the internet. We will see.
Just going to download my pictures of the so fars.
Then I need to think about what I make for today, while I wait to find the right cords to finish them off.
Its going to be tough today to do sewing, as I have to Clear and Clean DGD's room while she goes to see her Mum today.

Gumtree, pre-loved and classified for 2nd hand if you have some cash. For new check out Dunhelm Mill or on-line. If you want to pay up, most catalogues will have an over-priced one. You could also ask family and friends, many people have one stashed away that they don't use.

You could ask on Freecycle or put an advert in your local newsagent window.
    Good luck.

It's not a name I know but try googling it and write to manufacturer if not'
Most machines are easy enough to follow through as have colour coded parts. just take one thread at a time. if it is still threaded up you can tie on new threads as nd pull through which makes it easy.
    Hope you get it sorted.

I went on a brilliant day course once, the tutor knew every machine (we took our own along) and could say at a glance what factory faults and quirks each model had - in some cases she told us to send it back to the manufacturer for remedy, in others (usually older or obsolete ones) she told us a workaround for the fault and we made up notebooks with samplers showing what tension etc we should use for the particular machine for particular stitches, rather than struggling on trying the default settings

Mine was the only machine in the class where she advised "get rid of it" so I have a newer one now; unfortunately she was no longer teaching by the time I realised I should go along with my new machine

There is at least one request a week on my Freecycle for a machine
