Figured out why it wont allow the word to be posted. Angel fire (one word) is a free advertising hosting site so MSE is blocking it in posts.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but last time I did this sort of thing was in the seventies, now it seems it is hard to find shops in the high street that sell fabric.Where can I find a pattern or a kit to make a rag doll type toy,or any books you could recommend.I have a bit of spare time at the moment

posted this a while ago and got a library book with patterns in.The patterns say to increase the size to 200%.HOW do you do this ? (its like a sock monkey btw but is a dalmation type dog.):)Ps thanks to the lady who offered to send me a patttern.only just noticed the pm oops.

Do any of you get overwhelmed with all the blogs and tutorials out there?
I have loads of links saved but I need to organise or label them if I can as I never know where to start! Arghhhh....
Tete - can I just say your skirt is brilliant. I feel like a fraud posting simple bags and bits like that it must take real patience and skill to make clothes, its my ultimate ambition (not skirts per se as I am not a skirt girl).

I love the peg bag idea, I was thinking I might steal that idea and do a peg bag and a matching carrier bag holder and maybe even a simple tote bag too. My Mum loves cats and my MIL loves dogs so I will have to keep my eyes peeled for some nice fabric on Friday at the craft show.

Just need to find my links now ........

I'm glad you like the idea of the peg bags, I have some wooden hangers that I have had for a while from poundland, so I have to make one for me too, I am using an old carrier bag too - shocking isn't it when I can make one!:rotfl:

Scoobs, I am the same, I bought the coat hangers ages ago and have no excuse, mine is currently an old Wilkinson one that split and it is held together with Ducktape! Disgraceful really :)

Have a look at the peg bag here its fabulous: I am going to attempt something like this, I will have to buy this book I think there are some lovely bits in there.

I think you would need to use a photocopier that was big enough to take A3 paper? Do you know anyone that works in an office or school? We have small old fashioned stationery shop nearby where you can get things copied for a small fee. Or (sudden lightbulb moment) ask at the library!

I like the look of this too, its a fabric carrier bag that folds into a little pouch, I think its a brilliant idea, just cut up a carrier bag to use as a pattern, I think I can probably manage that.

Totally overwhelming. I had them all in my favourites folder but Ive now started sub folders in my favourites so I know which ones I want to concentrate on first and Ive started heading them up differently when saving them so I know exactly what they are as some of the blog headings are a bit vague if you forget exactly whats what. There are too many (although still nice to get new ones and see what else is on offer!)
