lol Flossie thats just what I do with Amazon! (my library charges 50p per reserve though- pah the cheek of it!) Iv saved a fortune though and I like the way you can move the due date forward(up to 3 times) if your not finished with the books (but only if someone else hasn't reserved it) Iv never thought of suggesting for them to purchase a title but I will do now you have said that they bought your suggestions.:T0 -

Hi All I would like to be a follower if possible, so far only been able to read half the pages, but did only come across it last night.
My grandmother and gt grandmother were good seamstresses (is that correct)I have had a sewing machine for about 15yrs, we move every couple and it still follows me around. I like to sew straight lines lol. have previously made cot quilt and bumper sets for my kids and pj's etc I had 4 children each time whilst pregnant I have been crafty in a different way. My last one was knitting I just had to knit something for my ds.
I have old duvet covers that I bought last year from a thrift shop with the intention of turning them into cushion covers. Well I am now in midst of spray painting some plastic garden furniture we were given for free so hopefuuly that will spur me on.
And I have now comeback from the thrift shop again with a single duvet, pair of curtains and an old handbag. The duvet and curtains are going to be miraculously transformed into dog beds and the bag......well it has lovely wooden handles and zip but sorry I don't like the bag but I thought for 3euros I could salvage the handles and zip.
Looking forward to reading some more and following the links given.Mortgage

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a good weekend.
Quick question! I have just bought light, medium and heavy interfacing because each time i look at a pattern it says to add interfacing. What Im unsure about is which weight to use for what. Im assuming its just to add a bit of strength? Most of the tutorials dont really say which weight to add. I used the light stuff with quite a bit of fairly thick cotton that I had but it made no difference whatsoever (I havent got the medium and heavy stuff in post yet.) Is there a rule for what to use where to get maximum results? Thanks in advance.
p.s I fitted a zip for the very first time last night and it worked! (Sorry for sharing but my boyfriend isnt interested. He thinks Im a lunatic!!):smileyhea0 -

Hi Sunshine - I'm also an 'interfacing' virginbut used some for the first time over the weekend - it was 'medium' weight (apparently) but it doesn't seem to have done much to my bag. I haven't finished it yet so maybe when it's done it will miraculously be super strong but I'm not convinced. I also found it didn't stick very well - I ironed it under a damp towel but it's still loose in some places so maybe I did it wrong
I'll read responses to your queries with interest.
PS Nice one on the zip - I've got as far as looking at instructions online but haven't dared attempt one yet :T:T You must post a pic0
