i just got this book earlier this week, I've nearly finished the bag.
I'm not too sure how to try to explain it but I'll give it a go.
Ok, so you sewed down both sides and along the bottom?
Ok, so the sort of cut out bits at the corners? You don't sew these. Turn the bag around, still inside out, with the side seams facing you, then sort of open out the corner and stich this, it will be at right angles to the bottom seam. this sort of gives it a more 'bag' shape.
Have a look at p22 T-junction seam.
HTH and I've not just confused you more
I like the material and got the book for half price on amazon but TBH not sure if I'm that impressed with it. Some of the writing is so pale it's very difficult to read and it could have done to have more diagrams.
What do you think of it?0 -
Well I've not made anything this weekend so far, but I am happy to say I have finally sorted out my materials and bits and bobs, I bought this drawer system today from Wilko (£9.98) and I am so much happier that my bits are in bags and I can actually see what I have, previous to this all my bits were in about 8 different carrier bags!!
I found things I had forgotten that I had bought!
I also bought these t-towels from Wilko I think they may end up as a makeup bag or a peg bag.
I also bought a smart price shower curtain from Asda today for £1.50 (180 x 180) to use as lining for makeup bags and pencil cases, I will let you know how it works out.You can stand there and agonize........

Just have to wait and see now if it does arrive.

Great idea Kandip, I need about 3 of those for the stuff I have :rotfl:.
I have at last been sewing today, I have finished my mum's patchwork cushion covers and started on the seat pads for my 2 dinning chairs.
I look at t-towels so differently now, what can I make out of those :rotfl: always comes to mind not they look good for drying dishes.
I have been looking everywhere for cheap shower curtain but they have been £8 or more so thank you I didnt think of Asda.Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

I was also after a clear one so I could make little zipped fabric bags with windows in (clear shower curtain) to store my bits and bobs in.
Iv got the day off work next friday and my friend and I are going to the Pins and Needles Craft exhibition in Newcastle. Im dead excited and will probably spend a fortune and bring back a mount of stuff - so like you I will probably need another three of these boxes! You can stand there and agonize........

Oooo Kandi that sound like you will have a great day, like a kid in a sweet shop :rotfl:
I need to sort my bits out too, took me ages this morning looking for the little roses I had to sew on the back of my cushion covers (to hid where I had stitched on the press studs).Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Thanks Karmacookie, that does help. I find that CK books do assume you know what she's on about with little direction - or perhaps that's just me
Tbh - I like her books for inspiration but feel a bit like it's the same old, same old. I get some of my best ideas from online tutorials or reading other peoples blogs and stealing, ahem I mean borrowing ideasWhat do you think to the book ??
