Lots of nice makes on here, have enjoyed seeing all the pictures of everybody's talents.
I finally finished the patchwork cushion cover I was working on, although I may put a couple of buttons on the back for fastening. Am not sure about all the colours but overall quite pleased with my first attempt at a bit of patchwork. have to work out what I'm doing for the next one now.0 -
Well done on finishing your patchwork. Are we going to see the finished cushion, Chocolate?0

My SIL has unearthed a sewing machine in her loft and brought it over for me to look at as she can't get it to work. It's an old Brother that someone gave her years ago.
It looks to be threaded up ok but it won't pick up the bobbin thread. When I put the bobbin in and turn the wheel by hand, instead of the top thread going round the case and bringing the bobbin thread back up to the top, the needle just goes down and back up again without doing anything.
I'm not very technical I'm afraid but I know if I put the bobbin in the wrong way round in my machine then the bottom thread won't come up. It has to be put into the bobbin case so that it unwinds in an anti-clockwise direction - could it be something like that?
Hope that helps. If not I'm stumped, sorry.0 -
Thanks Bobbykins,
I checked the bobbin and it was ok, so I've googled it and some people said it could be the needle in the wrong way round. It was the right way round but it didn't seem as high in it's holder as it could be. I put it higher and it's all right now!0 -
I wanted to post a picture of Daughters Crochet hat - but have not clue as to how you do it on here. So can anyone help? Images saved in Irfanview Jpeg format at moment.0

Morning, well surprisingly I did some sewing. I started to play around with some fat quarters and a pattern for Babybooties, while I was watching TV with BF here. I made a pair of booties, by hand each night. I lined them with some flannel from an old pair of Pjamas! I got the pattern from the latest Craftseller Magazine. Mind you they say to sell them at £10 a pair! I live in the wrong world, as I cannot see anyone wanting to pay £10 for a pair of booties, mind you they do take a few hours to make by hand so if I wanted to make a profit they would need to be.!
Anyway I have cut out some more from the fabric, and will use them as things to do with my hands, until I have enough offcuts from my makes to continue with my scraps patchwork quilt.
DGD will not allow me to sew on the sewing machine though, its all what I can do here in the sittingroom. I shall find the camera and get some pictures sorted out soon. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi peeps
I have changed the address of my little blog. Those of you that "follow" me will have to subscribe to the new address. although all my followers still appear on my blog so I have no idea if you are still able to "see" me or not.0 -
I am not at all technically minded I'm afraid and for some reason my pictures keep disapearing. I am trying them again the way Hart suggested. Here's hoping it works this time.

and the finished dress0 -
I made a mediaeval dress for a company Xmas do in a castle...seven or so years ago. I used gold velvet curtains (from a charity shop) and bought an upholstery remnant as the centre panels.
Like Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With The Wind and those green velvet curtainsYou must find a pic of your mediaeval dress, it sounds fab.
I right click on my pic in photobucket then go to properties and copy the HTML code then I come back here to the message box, click on the little post card pic ( one with little mountain) at the top of this box then paste the code into the bar and save, it will then come up on your message
I use photobucket too Hart .... You can bypass having to use the little postcard picIf you hover over the picture in the album on photobucket, or click on it, there's 6 lines of code appear. If you click in the box next to IMG code it should copy automatically then I just come back here, right click and paste directly into this reply box and it shows up in the post.
You can do something similar in Flickr if you use it by clicking share and you can choose which size image to use, then click in the BB Code box, right click copy and then right click paste here too.
Bobbykins I swear I have almost the exact same necklace?
georgiabay Glad your sewing machine was an easy fix0
