    Love the cushions, Pootleflump!

Sorry to hear about the job, Hart, but like you say, at least you don't hate your current job. Good luck with the craft fair and let us know how you get on.

Kindle case - I made this one http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/05/bookkeeper.html#more A picture of the one I made is on my homepage.

I'm a bit of a lurker on here & can't sew for toffee and you helped me out once before & I'd like some more advice please.

I've got a leather jacket that is too good to throw away but the stitching of the lining has split down the back centre seam - I've sewn it up once but the original stitching had already started to fray the material. My repair was stronger than the lining and it has gone again. It looks a right mess. I haven't asked anywhere how much it might cost to re-line it (probably too much) but wonder if you have any suggestions how I could rescue it myself?

    TIA

Its not daft at all. I pondered over the same thing!! The person who bought my owl lived near me so I didnt have to send it. I think the only way round is it to make doorstops that people can fill themselves otherwise the postage costs will be through the roof so maybe add a zip or velcro.

Cuddles, Ive got that victorian spice mix that tamster was speaking about and I would say its unisex. Smells yummy! Just sew it into some muslin before you put it in whatever you making so that it doesnt leak or stain. x

Hi, I love to sew, can I join you lot? Would be ace to get feedback on my mistakes as I'm not very good at following instructions and tend to meander through a project at my own pace - then wonder where it has all gone wrong! Anyway, am just about to start tea so will be back later - am hoping to make a couple of school skirts for DD this evening, got a bargain lot of navy gabardine - but as usual am hoping to make it up as I go along.... Watch this space!

Today has gone better than yesterday - frankly - couldn't have gone much worse. My sewing machine started off by playing nicely but after a while - decide to mess about.
A lot of trial and error with my makes but I am getting there. I want one set of makes ready for Friday evening. Hopefully I can get the others made as well.
The bunting is causing problems - Mum wants a 3cm binding - I have the three sizes of bias binding maker but they don't go up to 3cms finished width. So I am going to have to fold/iron the hard way!
Re door stops - I gave mine as presents - weighed with half bricks! I see Ebayers sell them empty.

My only suggestion would be to get a contrasting (to make it look like a design feature rather than a repair) piece of very strong fabric and stitch it into the lining at the seam. As the lining frays it is slowly getting smaller and presumably the reason why it split in the first place was because it was a bit small. Adding a bit of extra faric will add size and strength to the seam. Well that's my thoughts but I've never tried anything similar TBH.
