Well done everyone, lots of progress. That's great Mumof2 to get rid of emotional stuff like that, but clearly someone else needs it so good to know it will be used (and loved). Keep going pigpen, my house is still awful but I've got rid of loads of bits, I'm determined to keep going so that it'll make fly-lady easier. Talking of which I havent done that today... Must do my kitchen cupboards too Aril, as my saucepans fell down on me tonight. A cluttered house is a danger!

jem1276 - what a great idea to...Re appropriated a little chest of drawers from the bedroom and put it in the box room to store some craft making stuff in.

In = bubble bath (chemical free stuff only loved one uses so doesnt count as my toiletry stash:p), ear candles.

    Out =
5 soaps (dont use this brand anymore, have loads of Dove ones from xmas) (charity, as all still in packaging)
    1 aftershave (charity)
Loads of mini aftershaves (all old) (smelt like a nightclub when I poured them away!) (packaging recycled)
    Darlek bubble bath... (charity)
    Plastic back massager (charity)
Old, out of date medicines (binned)

Tasks for this month (never set these before so I may get done sooner or later...)
    clear bedroom floor
sort glasses - loads of glasses of all shapes and sizes
    organise phone cabinet
reorganise bathroom cabinet [STRIKE]shelves [/STRIKE]and drawer; (done shelves):j
reduce 1 bag in spare room, re-establish as bedroom

Do all this for a reward to book a spa break!
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

  • Aww, the kids went to school, and we got a call at 12.30 saying 'pick them up cos the heating wont get warm enough' so that was that. Theyre going back again on wednesday.
So the only decluttering that happened today was a slight use of the older freezer food (HM fishcakes with runner beans) and a cutting up of magazines for decoupage bits and the leftovers going into the fire, and some old flapjacks out for birds and things.

Hello all! Not done much decluttering, DH is clutter in and of himself and makes getting anything done a nightmare - thank goodness the buses are running again to get him out from under my feet!

Oh lawks, it makes it sound like a right tip seeing it all written down like that! :D Hope tomorrow goes better, although I do have to go out tomorrow morning. Big sigh... ;)

Ah Magpye - I look at what I post daily and think that people must think we live in one of those houses like you see on grimebusters with paper piled from floor to ceiling  but its not! Its just we have a relatively large house (pen I envy your neat flat some days!) and its not overflowing just full!! Given the amount I have thrown away and decluttered over the last couple of weeks, really it should be empty by now, but it just seems to be getting to the point where it is all managable.........

Before Christmas I actually resigned myself to the fact that all of the boys HAVE to read whilst on the toilet and so bought magaazine racks for them! Sometimes I think its not just about decluttering but also about resigning yourself to the fact that some things wont change so its just about oranising them better - DH and DS1 always have at least 2 books on the go at any one time!

This year I have resolved to sort stuff out as it comes in the door (post mainly!) and to sort through the boys clothes more often - we always have a bag on the go for the clothes recycling as they grow like weeds. Hopefully when I have finished everything will have a place and it wont be a case of opening a cupbaord and wondering what on earth is in it this time!! I will even get around to the boxes of books and DVD's that are still sat in the spare room since we moved 3 years ago - I see Amazon having an influx at this rate to sell!

Hope everyone has a good day today, bear in mind that Rome was not built in a day and that a little bit every day starts to show results pretty quickly!
