Am looking at my untidy computer table-need to clear it up as I've got a couple of Uni assignments to complete. Will clear it up today.

Agree about stuff going from the cupboard to the sofa and finally on the floor. It's a like an obstacle course.

Thanks to everyone on here for encouraging me to clear up. It's really helped.:j:T

Few lazy days decluttering-wise:o but will get back on track next week when DS returns home (not sure why having him here stops me but there you are!)
Today we put the decs away in the loft and brought down all the spare suitcases, including some used by MIL in 1953! Anyway, only tow had anything in and as the clothes were all 3 sizes too small for me
have large bag ready for charity shop now.
Intend to put the cases on to Freecycle, as someone else may be able to make use of them. We have just 2 we use regularly, these spare ones are huge!
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

    Milk
Bottled water - don't usually buy but water pipes were frozen this morning and didn't want to be left without water if I couldn't defrost them when I came home. Left work early and managed to defrost them using a fan heater.
Post - some useful. The rest recycled

    Out
Finished a pot of footcream - empty pot recycled
Bottle of liquid detergent finished - bottle recyled & replaced by one from the 'hoard'

    IN

    Milk, eggs.

    OUT

    2009 diary and contents.

Was verbally told today at work that I am 'no longer needed', being paid a week in lieu, but very unprofessional IMO especially as it was done in front of other member of staff and not in private - one day shy of having worked for them for a year - bit gutted TBH, can't afford to be out of work. Therefore not in decluttering mood! In a 'sit and eat Carte D'Or ice cream' mood.

It's been quite a quiet week, nothing of note IN but OUT go some older Christmas decorations and I repacked and organised what's left - I've gained half a shelf back.

Hmmm, me and DH have differing views on this filing lark. I think it's a good idea to fling stuff out now rather than make files for him, but he wants it the other way around . Men eh!! I'll do what he wants purely to shift all the paper piles.

    Anyhow:

    IN: few food groceries

OUT: about 10 sheets of paper and some old envelopes (I did try!)

    I'll have another go tomorrow.

  • i read a great tip somewhere. You know we all have that drawer that all the bits get put into, empty it into a box if you use something it goes back in the drawer if its still in the box after say a month out it goes, not easy for a hoarder but a good starting point.

Also in your wardrobe put all you hangers the wrong way round, when you wear something it get hung back up the right way and again everything the wrong way around goes I am thinking maybe three months for this one.
