KK, I'd phone or email customer services about that. They probably dont know their despatch people are being so wasteful. All these packaging costs are built into prices so the more they streamline the better and plus the environment can breathe with a tree saved to live another day. :A

I think if it was anyone but Debenhams I would! I've called them twice over Christmas and they were absolutely useless! First time I called I waited 10mins and then asked if they could see if a product was in stock for me (a cushion)- they sked me which deptartment the should transfer me to (shouldn't THEY know that!) I asked for soft furnishings/ homeware- they trf'd me to furniture so I said politely "I'm really sorry I actually asked to be put through to homeware". Lady said "oh right" and put the phone down on me ....arrrrrghhhhhh! I don't think I have the will to call them again!

    In = 0
Out = 3 toiletries (used up body cream, face mask and had to chuck out of date vitamins - all packaging recycled). I like PP's way of listing stuff to do. So I'm going to do noticeable stuff to keep me motivated, so:

    Declutter tasks for today:
    - clear and organise PC desk
    - sort out bags of xmas pressies into permanent homes

Let's see how I get on with that for starters. Thanks for the inspiration PP.

  • 5 books out today. I was planning on taking them to the library as donations if I had been working this afternoon, but I'm not, so I can't. I left them at work instead so technically it is '5 items that have left the house' even if it's not for their original destination. I told the girls at work that they could take them if they wanted.

I'm having another go at getting sorted. Everything is pending at the moment as I can't get out the house for the snow and we haven't had any sort of rubbish collection for ages.

    Pending
Listed books on Freegle (will go the charity shop I think as nobody has replied)
    Listed spare nappies on Freegle
Box of old toys put in attic ready for NCT sale
Sorted DS1 old clothes (need to find a box to put them in the attic ready for DS2)
    Collected Xmas cards for recycling

    Out
2 bags of rubbish (plastic packaging etc)

I'm starting to run out of space to put recycling and charity donations! The good news is nothing is coming in as I can't get to the shops:D

Decluttered my PC desk - got rid of a broken memory stick, blank xmas cards x 2 lots, bee gees CD!, stickers, papers (loads but shall only count as 1 item), catalogue and magazine. Not perfect but better even in 15 mins or so.

    Hello:D
In: as far as I know nothing but that could have changed since I've been at work!

Out: 1 bag of weekly refuse
    Various card and plastic recycling

Pending: 2 bags of beanbag stuffing to go to a freecycler when the weather has improved

Decluttering goal: to contine to take notes from the library book I've got out at the moment so I can take all of them back to the library at the weekend.
