Am doing really well - but the snow helps!!!

    In - NOTHING!!!

    Out - well nothing either

    Recycled
Unwanted christmas presents to my gift bag - sounds so ungrateful, but they're not really my thing!
    Old magazines
Paint and paper into next years christmas wrapping (made by my children!)
Paint and cards into next years christmas cards (also made by children!)
Jam jars and lids - in preparation for summer of jam making!
All excess food / bits in fridge into dog food!

Now I know I'm not doing enough because I'm getting cold. Off to do cleaning.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

OOh - nasty things - full of artificial fragrance and things like formaldehyde - yick! Have a couple of nice essential oils instead - lemongrass or lemon or bergamot (anything citrussy, really) are good for kitchens and bathrooms. Lavender good for bedrooms. Lounge - depends on your taste - lavender & lime mixed is nice. Actually, there are LOTS of nice ones - but I've chosen some easy to get hold of and cheap ones. Just 3-6 drops max in a burner or an electric diffuser will do- or a radiator fragrancer in this weather when the heating is on :D

Ooohh, this sounds like a good idea, I have a few of those things to get rid of too......will update later xx

OMG... WHY????? Just had a delivery from Debenhams... 2 tealight holders held back from a previous order (which was delivered yesterday)- arrived in 2 seperate big boxes in 2 large bags... honestly they would've quite easily fit in one box they're tiny! It seems so wasteful and our bins are FULL FULL FULL so got absolutely nowhere to put it all so it will have to go in the garage until I can get to the skip.... aaaarrrrrggggghhhh

So in: 2 tealight holders and a load of carp
    Hopefully... some post!!!

Out: Nothing yet but watch out clutter I'm coming to get you!!!!

KK, I'd phone or email customer services about that. They probably dont know their despatch people are being so wasteful. All these packaging costs are built into prices so the more they streamline the better and plus the environment can breathe with a tree saved to live another day. :A

  • Right I'm joining this, not because I buy so much but because I'm a natural hoarder. I see use in everything, but there are limits.

One thing I've been doing lately on a big paper decluttering is making sure I have radio/music on all the time. It makes it feel much less arduous.

I also use the "list jobs and tick them off, however small" strategy, mentioned earlier in the thread. Its a good psychological boost.

    Food shopping
    3 Magazines
Bought a chicken door stop cos she’s cute – she’s called henny penny!
Another bag of shredded paper from work colleagues for our chickens bedding
New carpet going down tomorrow!! All managed with the help of this board – my spare room is now a fully functioning room!

    Out

Big bag of magazines to sister
    2 library books
    1 book sold on Amazon
    Packaging from cheap shoes
Have returned 2 bags as I don’t really like them
2 bottles of old creams and moisturiser used up
3 books and 2 CDs back to the library
2 ebay parcels and associated packaging
Old laminate to the tip – and other sundries that have been waiting for ages to meet their maker! Be gone evil ones!!! :o)
    Haircut voucher!

    Pending

Ebay stuff will hopefully be selling soon – fingers crossed

I am on a clothes rotation programme after I heard that we only use 30% of our wardrobe regularly so I am trying to wear things that I haven’t worn in ages, and it makes you realise just how many clothes you have! I don’t feel the need to go clothes shopping cos every day it feels like im wearing something I haven’t seen in ages! See if it gets me through the Jan sales unscathed!
