    In = freebie newspaper

Out = toiletries x 5 (used up bits and pieces, bottles of shampoo I'd started, sachet of face mask, simple wipes that sort of thing). Doing the buy no new toiletries challenge in conjunction with the declutter challenge is working out well.

Flylady today is the living room so will look to get rid of some items in there. Will do that now before dinner. Updated: got rid of cardboard/plastic packaging, a rubber key fob that deteriorates (wow how useful) and paracetomol tablets that will go into my desk at work. Kitchen drawer bits: a badge, a measuring tape only in cm (prefer one that shows cm and inches) and a kitchen magnet (all to charity) - and started to put all the tealights and boxes of matches together instead of scattered around the drawer.

Keep going everyone, the less stuff you have the more you can have your homes how you'd like to use them (we all have that spare/junk room or is it just me?).

Being snowed in, ideal time to declutter-So true.

I sorted out some paper work and have a half tidy cupboard. Will declutter the rest tonight.

I have to stop hoarding crap.

My kids were home today so are decluttering the food cupboards for me  it looks like they will be home at least tomorrow too as the snow has not thawed one iota and the black ice is now descending!

    So IN:

    Kids lol nothing else

    OUT:
Another bag of recycling - junk mail from yesterday shredded too
    Two parcels to ebay
    Emails from computer
Old magazines from rack in the living room

    Pending out
Items listed on ebay (several watchers already)
Remaining freecycle items - someone wants to pick up whatever I have left over!

Rubbish men didnt turn up again today - I emailed the customer service people and said that it will be 6 weeks  for recycling and 4 weeks  for normal waste by the time they get to me if I have to wait for my next scheduled collection. I was basically told tough but they are sending some more recycling bags out to me  At this rate I will need a lorry to myself!

I did put the pictures in mounts and frames though today so althoug not a declutter it gets them off the floor! Have to say that the company I ordered the boxes from today - they have already been dispatched although goodness knows when they will arrive.

Hope you are all enjoying the snow - the cat decluttered the very fat rat this morning that had been living in the coal shed, my once white cat is now a bit black but he has the right idea:rotfl:

    Umm, no! :D

    OUT

5 plug in thingys for room scents (can't think what they're called now!) as will be trying to find something more natural to add scent.

OOh - nasty things - full of artificial fragrance and things like formaldehyde - yick! Have a couple of nice essential oils instead - lemongrass or lemon or bergamot (anything citrussy, really) are good for kitchens and bathrooms. Lavender good for bedrooms. Lounge - depends on your taste - lavender & lime mixed is nice. Actually, there are LOTS of nice ones - but I've chosen some easy to get hold of and cheap ones. Just 3-6 drops max in a burner or an electric diffuser will do- or a radiator fragrancer in this weather when the heating is on :D

  • Not done any declutterng today as we were out all morning and I was too tired to do any when I got home. Probably staying in tomorrow so will have a good go at it then.

1 promotion leaflet for various craft events
1 tin for sealed pot challenge
    Some shopping from Aldi
    6 loo rolls
Pack of knitting wool for a scarf
2 pairs bedsock-style bootees from Primark

    OUT:
    3 clear sacks with recycling
    1 black sack of non-recyclables

Going to have an early night I think... I spend far too much time on these forums!
