today i started in the kitchen - cleared one side got a few bin bags of recycable stuff out, (my side gate has been broken so coouldnt get the bins out, so the recycable stuff has been sort of collecting in reusable bags! took the bin + iceysnow in through my kitchen and hall and out the front door! what a sight! lol) went to my parents old hoouse and took a smallish bag of my stuff to mine, but i was ruthless and binned a box of my stuff, stuff i would normally have kept (i have for over 10 years!)
Hoping to get the rest of the kitchen done tomorrow

  • Day at home with OH today because of all the snow. Last time I saw this much I was in Iceland - looks like there's about 1ft over everything and 2-3ft snow drifts in places.. brr!

Was snowy yesterday too and the post office closed early. One of my parcels is a bit on the edge of being a large letter so i wanted to check. Bit annoyed about it closing (at least 1.5 hours) early because all the other shops here managed to stay open here even though lots are little local ones with only a couple of staff. The snow's got worse so I doubt they'll bother at all today.

Does anyone know if 2nd class large letter is only sold at the post office? The newsagent didn't seem to have heard of it.

    anyway...

  • For those of you de-cluttering and getting rid of good quality baby/children's things, why not cash in by selling them on wwwbaby2baby.co.uk. This is an online marketplace for buying and selling nearly new baby products and launched just a few days ago. Moreover, its free!!

Operation kitchen de-clutter is going really well - loads of stuff chucked out and now got 3 bags for the charity shop. Only trouble is that the car is stuck in a snow/ice pile and hasn't been out since last Friday. So annoying but still snowing here.

Just doing the food cupboards now and am wondering why I have 4 jars of cinnamon and a whole pile of stuff I don't use.

Just hoping that JL can get here tomorrow to deliver the DW which is the cause of this latest de-clutter.

Cooking mama I will join you on that get rid of 100 things challenge! I will join late and will aim to do it by the 10th! Eeek! I've done loads of these challenges and they do make a difference.

THanks for the tips of where to get rid of toiletries. I do give some bits to friends and stuff - I always ask first and they are always keen!

Freecycle is great for getting rid of odd things too that you dont think a charity shop could or would sell.

Right time for sleep and then some decluttering to do!
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Decluttered the dresser drawers in the kitchen yesterday - still don't look amssively different, few bits went in the bin and about 5 sets of top trumps have gone into the Charity bags sat on the lannding, though with the amount of snow I don't think any collectors will be round any time soon.
DS's had a bit more of a sort of their toys so I now have bundles of toys to get onto Ebay plus some books and DVD's
