The Great Declutter Part 2
Comments
-
Eventually got the car dug out and made it to the charity shop today - had two bags waiting for a week:
2 x kitchen bowls
8 x plates
1 x teapot
1 x stainless steel bucket (small)
and other bits and pieces.
I use Dr Barnado's for two reasons - it's easy to park outside and they gift aid all the donations and so get extra money from the unwanted goods they take in.
Only got a dinner service (well, parts of it) from the 50s and will take some pieces to the local auctioneer, but it's not going back in the cupboard. It will be cluttering up the kitchen bench so that I will get annoyed and deal with it!!

Re my post No.3833 22nd Nov.
Many thanks to Charlies-aunt & Clairhi for their posts (have clicked thanks) and huge apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
The delay has been caused by decorating the front bedroom which actually turned out to be a complete remodelling/replastering job. 8ft high 6ft 6in wide fitted mirror wardrobe removed - yippee- I hated the bliddy thing but it is now residing in the garage. Not sure where to get rid of it but that will have to wait until after Xmas.
I think I will manage to get rid of 100 items next week as I now have only one wardrobe but 2 dress rails rammed with clothes and a single bed covered in jumpers etc.!!!!! I rarely get rid of clothes 'cos there is always a chance that I just might wear them again!!! NOT THIS TIME THO' THEY ARE GOING TO THE CHARITY SHOP.
New Years resolution will be sort OH's study.
Happy Christmas,

Sorted out the coffee table in the lounge this morning, its a lift up one with storage so it soon gets filled up, hence 1 bag of recycling and a few bits in the bin, also from the dresser some old / dried up playdough - binned and all the playdough equipment condensed into 1 tub, old box in recyling.
Another Charity bag arrived the other day to be collected on Tuesday - currently in there:
3 tshirts
Tie
Waistcoat0 -
In
Nothing (been waiting for a new pair of winter boots since 1st December and the courier hasn't delivered due to the backlog from the bad weather and I'm not allowed to go and collect it! Surely letting people collect from the depot would make the backlog smaller!?)
Out
Old college work recycled - can't bring myself to get rid of everything yet, but have got rid of one A4 ring binders worth of handouts/photocopies/notes for less interesting subjects!
Six Ebay parcels
Pending Out
Another four parcels to be sent
Two belts and a handbag added to charity bag0 -
I have a charity bag to drop off of bits and bobs.
Anyone up for a challenge of getting rid of 50 things by Friday - about 10 a day?Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

An update from me:
In:
Food Shopping
Out:
A Parcel
About 7/8 boxes of total carp that hasn't been seen the whole time we've lived here (3 Years) and hadn't been missed either! I can't believe we actually thought we needed this stuff. Anyway, it's gone now and our house looks so much better. I now have my long awaited craft room! So there will probably be lots of stuff being brought in! :rotfl:0 -

I'll join in the 50 items by Friday too - off today, DS2 got hospital appointment so this afternoon, I'll have a bit more of a rummage0
-
Can I join in please? Have a huge job to do decluttering my house - my husband, daughter and it looks like my son (only 4) are serial hoarders
Out
1/2 black bag full of old worn out toys / old birthday cards DD has been keeping for 'craft' - going back to when she was 4 ... she's now 8
Pending out
1 pair of outgrown shoes from DS, some old clothes from DS and too small size swimming nappies to my nephew (my brother and his wife are on a very tight budget so I always send them DS's old shoes)
About 8 pairs of assorted shoes / crocs
12-18m bodywarmer
Girls age 5 waterproof coat
All to charity shop - in a black bag waiting for next bag being popped through the door/next time I'm going out to the charity shop
It's only a little bit but it's a start isn't it.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Thanks guys for joining in - how you all getting on?
I had a 2/3 hour blitz in the bedroom. Amazed and ashamed how much utter rubbish is in here. Got rid of:
24 bits of recycling from packaging and old magazines/catalogues
31 bits for charity including lots of books, shoes, odd clothes for the "rag bag"
7 bits of rubbish for the bin.
So that's 62 things gone! And bags of stuff now waiting to go to the charity shop so I've put them in the car boot already. Some stuff was really hard to let go but I'm fed up of having clutter everywhere.
THe only downside is I now have a European clothes mountain of clothes to wash....
As I'm not finished and it's still untidy I shall have another blitz. Must say it felt really good to have sorted so much stuff for the charity shop. My friend died from cancer earlier this year and most of my stuff goes to the local hospice shop. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
