Hi guys... i was wondering if anyone could help me? I SERIOUSLY need to declutter. My son is 18months old and we have a binliner minimum of clothes from each age newborn, 0-3months, 3-6months etc... plus about 6 or 7 binliners of my own clothes... plus toys EVERYWHERE......... you get the drift.
Anyway I coulld have it all gone asap taking it to charity shops etc, but we are in a lot of debt and i'm sure we could sell a lot of this stuff... so i've been trying to sort it into bags - bin/charity/ebay etc but then the bags are multiplying and it seems like there's MORE stuff.
and then i need to wash it and iron it all and take pictures of it all and wait for a couple of weeks for it to sell and then wrap and send it all etc
and I'm looking after my 18month old all day, trying to prepare for new baby due in jan, studying at home, volunteering twice a week and also have 4 university interviews coming up i'm trying to prepare for
plus trying to sort out stuff for christmas.
i think it's safe to say i feel overwhelmed. What do i do
Do I use alllllllllll this time and try and make some money from the clutter to go towards christmas, debts etc
or do i bite the bullet and just get it out of my house!!!!!!!!! which i'd love to do

Blimey, you sound busy! if it were me, I would just sort out the best quality clothes/toys for Ebay and get rid of anything left over to the charity shop, so at least you've got some of it out of the house now.
I would also be tempted to bundle the baby clothes into age group job lots on Ebay, so once sold you will be getting rid of several items in one parcel. Or how about offering a job lot of baby clothes in your local paper? They will come and collect it and bring lovely cash, so no packing and posting required!0 -
Hi chaz - I'd get some stuff out of the house. The stuff you think is less likely to sell well on ebay. Then once you have made a bit of space you will have the time to flog the other bits. Best of luck
Sorted out some toiletries to give to a friend to cheer her up. Stuff gone from mine, yay.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi All
Happy decluttering
Out
3 bags of recycling for usual Monday collect
1 black bin bag
Green bin of kitchen/garden waste
Pokemon DVD to Ebay
2 sports tops to Ebay
DS to college
In
Nothing out of the ordinary0 -
In
Exercise bike (was being stored in uncle's loft, but had to have it back as he is now boarding and insulating the loft and needed the floor space cleared!) Good to have it back over the winter anyway, when the weather's too ick to go out walking!
Out
Went through an old folder and recycled most of the paper in it, there was stuff in there dating back to 2004!
Pending Out
Jumper, three CD's and a PC game added to charity bag
Four items sold on Ebay, but I'm having 'issues' with one buyer who now wants to pull out of the sale, so I have offered the item as a 'second chance' to the next lowest bidder, who doesn't seem interested either! Offering to the next bidder would mean losing out on £4Will have to investigate and see if I can reclaim the fees and relist it. I do wish people would read listings and communicate if there's a problem *sighs heavily*

Hi all can I join just started decluttering my house in time for Christmas. I did my bedroom last Thursday as it had just become a dumping ground since we moved in last year. I had 4 bin liners of baby clothes, videos, bits and bobs for charity. 4 bags for the tip :-S and two bags of clothes for my neice. Did my baby daughters bedroom today and have got a bag of toys, a bag of boys clothes and a bag of cross stitch magazines (bout 50)for charity (tried selling them on ebay but no takers :-( ) Got another bin liner of clothes for my neice, and to sell on ebay I have got 8 pairs of womens shoes, an activity centre, a baby car seat, a baby bouncer and a moses basket. Also found a small tv/video combi thing with no plug not sure what to do with that??
Phew, feel exhausted just saying it!!
Still need to
Sort out toys for charity

Things are slowly going in the right direction I'm just getting impatient and want to move house straight away but we haven't even got ours on the market yet.
Out over the last week:
48 foolscap folders that have had 2 uses in our house but no longer required
2 Cath Kidston items bought in sale for presents
5 ebay sales more badges and 2 Radley purses, one hardly used and one I've been using for a while but a bit big and OH has bought me a new one for my birthday
Recycling hopefully collected today - 3 full bins and lots in the house to be emptied into them when I get home.
Pending:
5 sets of Lego sold on ebay, 4 have now been paid for so need posting.
Have started a charity bag again and need to fill it by Monday as having a day off and can take it to the charity shop then.

do you have cheapcycle/ freecycle in your area? would save you going out to the charity shop & also with cheapcycle you could advertise the bags of clothes for say £5 or £10 and people can view & most will rewash so maybe say that they will need rewashing so you dont have to?
maybe sort the baby clothes winter/summer then at least you can do the summer ones later?
do you have gumtree? or freeads? all good places to list as job lot & people will come look.

Sorted a couple of unloved toiletries to a friend:
- nail polish
- shampoo
Moved some ornaments upstairs to a window ledge that were cluttering up the lounge.
