I haven't been on here for a while but DS's bedroom is nearly finished so we are gradually emptying all of his toys out of the loft to put back into his new organized bedroom. My recycling mountain is monsterous for tomorrow and I'm hoping it doesn't blow away when I put it out. Once DS's room is back together, I will re do DD's bedroom and clean it as it's minging. It needs redecorating and she's managed to pull the radiator off the wall too- GAH!

I’ve just subscribed to this thread as I’m in desperate need for major declutter. I cleared out the hall cupboard two days ago then a friend came to visit to ask me to do a CV for her daughter. The cupboards now completely empty and all the stuff is piled up in the hallway. I always get distracted and never finish get things finished.
I’ve got a shed full of shelves, baskets and storage items that I’ve bought. I clean out one cupboard and end up putting the stuff in a different cupboard. I don’t have any problems regarding cleaning the house, but my cupboards are overflowing and they'll so disorganised that I can never find anything. It seems such a huge mountain to climb I don’t know where to start of the best way to tackle it. The final straw was finding a tub of bisto in the bathroom cabinet yesterday it hadn't been opened I must put it in there when I was unpacking the grocery shopping.
Any advice on the best way to start the declutter and keep myself focussed would be greatly appreciated. :j :j

Hi all,
Its been a long time since i posted on here, my stupid health has been getting in the way.
But i've now got it into my head that the house needs cluttering and badly.
So i'm setting myself a challenge to get rid of 100 items within 10 days, well say 20, in case my knees and lungs start playing me up
So this week i've got rid of:- coffee table (tip)
- two stools(tip)
- one broken chair (tip)
- one chair(tip)
- one black bag of broken toys (tip)
- five cardboard boxes (tip)
- one half barrel (tip)
- two black bags of rubbish (itp)
- one very old electric heater (freegle)
- one thigh lateral trainer (freegle)
- one set of curtains (freegle)
- three small vases (freegle)
- one large charity sacks filled with old clothes and rags
- two big black boxes full of recycling
- one blue bag filled with paper (recycled)
- five black bags of paperwork and junk  from our room, now reduced to 1 carrier bag:j
- one broken bike (tip)
- one jumper (now on ebay)
- one dress (now on ebay)
- one usb thingy (now on ebay)
Only another 8o things to go bleeding heck still loads to go.

Well they managed to collect all of my recycling but for some reason they only took the black sack that DH had balanced on top of the wheelie bin and the top black sack from inside. So it is still 3/4s full. That's really annoying because I wanted to fill it with other stuff and now I can't. I will have to do a tip run this week and as that's the case, I might just dig it all out of the black bin and take it to the tip too.
Hoping to get up to ikea this week too so that I can get DS's chest of drawers and hopefully a dresser.
Can't wait until the house is finished because then I won't have things like large tool boxes, paint tins etc cluttering up the place. Maybe it will be done within the next 6 months?

Is it just me or do others think theor house 'breeds' clutter overnight????
DS's sold a load of toys they had outgrown on Ebay and got about £50 each but I feel that I'm constantly walking into rooms and theres stuff everywhere!!!!!!! At the minute I'm sorting out DS2's bedroom, yet more toys and hundreds of cars so am making a pile for the CS and a pile for Car Boot I'm hoping to do on Thursday - well better get back to it!!!!0 -
