We have a thriving declutter thread, so I'll add this to that one, and you'll get lots of ideas and encouragement :T:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0

Been missing in action. Been decluttering and didn't make it to 100 by the end of Friday. So yesterday I did a turbo super declutter and got rid of 84 things. Mainly papers, recycling and generall toot in the lounge. Now looks so so much better.
Will try and do this another day as it helped shift a load of stuff quickly.
Best of luck everyone, and every little bit of decluttering helps.
Just some words of encouragement for our fellow declutterers. A friend from a charity shop said they - in our area at least - are desperate for stock. So I will make a concerted effort to sort some more bits for our local hospice shop. I lost a very dear close friend to cancer this year and when thinking do I want or need this or would this help raise funds for a hospice, that clears the heart and mind a bit.
So stuff gone from my house, bargains for other people (probably MSErs) and funds for the charity. What's not to love. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I'm nearly at the end of my current declutter mission. In the last couple of days I have:
sorted the side shed, few bits for the bin and a few for the car boot box
sorted the family room cupboard, few bits for the scrap store, few for the car boot box
taken stuff to the scrap store
sorted out loads of old pension paperwork
Left to do:
sort the playhouse
finish sorting kids artwork
finishing sorting my intray
All very doable
I still want to keep an eye on what comes into the house and what goes out on a daily basis and I need to decide on whether to do a carboot sale this autumn or wait until the spring. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Believe me I don't belong here - but..........
I aim to make improvements, and even though its now more than half way through 2010 I can still make a difference this year (cant I?)
One of my huge bug bares is mail - I always have stacks of it kicking around, my main problem being I never jknow what to toss and what to keep ie bank, CC statements, old bill etc - what rule do you guys go by?

I can't believe it. My two local charity shops have closed down! I walked past them yesterday (intending to make another trip today) and they are totally empty. Such a pity and now I'm going to have to source out a new place to donate to.Mortgage Free by 40 Challenge #190

I managed to find 15 items of clothing to put in the charity bag, but they didn't collect it, so that is still in the spare bedroom until it can go to the charity shop!
Today I posted 10 Ebay parcels, recycled/shredded a pile of paperwork, and put a pile of CDs (which have been on the floor in the corner of the lounge for weeks) into the CD rack! Also sold my old fridge/freezer on Ebay, so hopefully that will be picked up by the weekend and that will be another space cleared!
