Today I got round to sorting out the living room :-
- Put everything away that shouldn't have been there e.g. shoes, jacket, shopping bag, etc.
- Cleared out all the old newspapers and magazines and put in the recycling bin, and chucked out the rubbish
- Tidied up card making stuff
talking of which..... I want to turn the spare room from dumping ground to craft room (I make cards) I'm making a list of what can be tipped or re-cycled. There's so much junk in thereAiming to get it finished within the next 2 weeks before I go back to work
Happy de-cluttering, everyone,

The washing line tackled!
In came most of the plastic pegs; some broken ones recycled.
Pair of old dirty rubber gloves (been there for months) washed and stored.
Broken bird food container also dangling/broken for months repaired with some stored spare wire.
(Also, more plastic containers from outside brought in which are now being used for storage indoors to make things look less messy).
Indoors, however, an empty food tub now reused to put spare carrier bags in which were on the floor therefore looks more spacious. Some biggish animal bones previously found in the garden "buried" outside again.0 -
I'm finally back online this week - and I can't tell you how much more stuff I've decluttered since I moved house. I *literally* can't tell you, because tho I really enjoyed listing each bit that I got rid of, when I actually moved in I was so overwhelmed with how much stuff I still had, that I just stopped bothering and threw things out wholesale
I discovered that my living room, for instance, smells of old books. That can't be good - so right now, my mission is to throw out anything I've had for years and never bothered to re-read, even tho I liked the storyline - and thats telling, because a lot of it is oldish paperback novels. The other thing thats going is old reference books - a good sleep guide published in 1995, for instance - there's loads of research been done since then, and anyway, half an hour on the internet is going to tell you what you need to know. Onwards and upwards.
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
2 bags of old clothes etc to fabric recycling at the weekend.
1 shower curtain sold (bought for our old flat and not used)
Doing a musical this week and so things are coming in and out for that and we're hardly at home so not making a lot of mess but not decluttering either but got a few more bits people are coming to collect this week and other stuff ready for ebay for Sunday.

Was forced to kick start my cleaning while on holiday. Didn't want to pay ryanair's rip off baggage prices when we booked our early flights home, so crammed 9 days worth of clobber and some souvenirs into overnight bags! Threw away some old underwear, a t-shirt and a jumper. Just threw out some old empty make up tubes and dead shoes.
Deep cleaning the kitchen and bathroom today, gonna throw away all the empty cleaning bottles and tinfoil rolls that were here when we moved inLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
It's been nearly a month since I last posted on here (have been keeping up with the thread though). Last time I posted the house was "Looking good". Can't say the same today...
I've had a cold that I can't seem to shake off & have got massively behind on decluttering & tidying - what little energy I've had has been spent on work, DS & gym - consequently the house is a mess. I'm generally much better than I used to be about bringing stuff in but today was the first time in a while that I got stuff out - big bag of bed linen, clothes & bits to CS. I only came out with 1 item - a lovely Nike top that fits perfectly...
If the weather is OK I intend to do a Car Boot on Sunday - and whatever's left over goes straight ot the CS.
Well done to everyone who has been keeping up the good work (unlike me)Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.
